  1. Regardless, "remarks that were deemed "offensive" to the president" is a pretty pathetic reason to arrest someone. What if those remarks were "**** this wonderful President even though he's been democratically elected, I literally love undemocratic military putsches because they aren't run by ebal socialests"?
  2. You should join the Party" for Socialism and Liberation if you want to be my friend.
  3. What a surprise, the owner of a TV Channel which supported a military coup d'etat against the country's democratic leader is arrested by that same leader. More news on this "anti-democratic" move as it develops. Hours earlier, ruling-party legislators had requested a probe of his behaviour regarding comments he had made at a media industry gathering in the country about the 2002 coup attempt against Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
  4. Yeah, no. A Randian society would just ruin its international relations, whine about everybody else having a more functional government, and eventually get literally bought by China.
  5. Yeah, no. Rand's political viewpoints are awful and nonsensical. Whereas the United States is starting up military operations in Yemen and Somalia, it is facing up against the very real possibility of long-term economic stagnation, and its debts are increasing without stopping or slowing down.
  6. America is purple. The problem is the politicians.
  7. No, her children will get the chance to live in the glorious Socialist Republic of America, the world's greatest workers' state.
  8. Greatest at collecting debt without any plan to pay it off, maybe.
  9. "Oh, Marx, Marx..." Engels moaned, reclining back in his chair. "Don't stop." Smiling up at Engels, Marx pulled his head back and said, "one man is superior to another physically, or mentally, and supplies more labor in the same time, or can labor for a longer time; and labor, to serve as a measure, must be defined by its duration or intensity."
  10. AMERICA IN 2021 IS A NATION ON THE BRINK OF DISASTER. The national debt has ballooned to the point where the US is no longer reasonably able to repay it, and is currently in desperate negotiations with the governments of China, Japan, the UK, France and others to try to work it off. The economy that has stagnated and receded for over a decade now goes into a sharp decline as the international value of the US dollar plummets. Her military is back on the draft to support the ongoing conflicts in Afghanistan, Yemen and Somalia. Young soldiers, generally recruited from the working class, are becoming heavily anti-war and anti-business, as they begin to see the political system of the country as one in which they are victimized by the rich. Every election since 2008 has been defined by an anti-war sentiment in the general public. When the people thought that the Democrats would release them from war, they voted for the Democrats; when they thought the Republicans would, they voted for the Republicans. The general public's belief in the two-party system, already fragile in a nation where most people do not think their representatives actually represent them, is declining rapidly. Mass rallies and protests rival those of the Vietnam era in size and scope. In older days, distaste of the two-party system lead to massive voter apathy, but today the people are too frightened of being drafted or having their loved ones drafted to simply sit at home. Small political parties, generally left-wing, are gaining more and more political traction as the neoliberal two-party system earns the ire of the broad public.
  11. How will I participate in the upcoming socialist revolution in the United States if I'm in Cuba? Think before you post. The problem with a socialist revolution in the US is that everyone is heavily armed, and the right wingers would kick your scrawny commie asses anyway. The problem with a socialist revolution in the Russian Empire is that everyone is heavily armed, and the right wingers would kick your scrawny bolshie asses anyway.

  13. Who gives a **** about the constitution? The US is a soon-to-be dead state anyway. We spend about as much on military as the rest of the world combined. We have a rising debt that's over a hundred times the debt of the Soviet Union at the end of the Brezhnev era. We are occupying two countries and soon to add a third or fourth (Yemen, Somalia). Our prison population competes per capita with the Gulag during the High Stalin period. Our "democracy" is a miserable failure where you get to choose between "****ty conservatives" and "****ty conservatives who are honest about it," where money is considered speech and where (effectively) only rich people can run for office. Our corporations keep their money in other countries and you can sign away your right to sue. How is this system supposed to last?
  14. Don't pretend like this is some "step forward" for the American people. It isn't. It's an awful bill that's practically a step back. Hope you like paying taxes if you don't buy private health care! Woop woop! America is great: brutal imperialism that protects the national interests of themselves and other white people countries, awful pseudo-democracy and the worst public care system that first-world capitalism has to offer.
  15. Norman Thomas was a well-known master of kung fu.
  16. Whatever, you know what I mean. CHOICES, man, choices. Always important.
  17. I've gone through p. much every thread on this here forum, and I don't think I've seen any of these characters before. Alpha Protocol Boss Fight Steven "Frito Bandito" Heck "Creepy guy you wouldn't want serving you something to eat," aka "The Gelato Guy." Edit: Also, Brenze (if that is your REAL NAME), keep your finger off the trigger except when you are about to fire.
  18. Wrong, that's not a reasonable criticism. In fact, writing a plot around mission design is better than the opposite, since the core of the game is the missions. The reasonable criticism was that Thorton can sound like he's mental if you switch between multiple conversation options.
  19. To clarify, I have heard that you can kill any individual character. But can you kill every individual character in a single playthrough? Can I stand, at the end, atop the corpses of everyone I've ever met? You can go through the game as a pacifist. Can you do the opposite?
  20. Cuba is a cesspool? Look, if you're gonna just deny facts, why even bother posting? You can do that without even looking at the internet. Cuba is a highly functional socialist democracy with an HDI equivalent to the better developing nations, and a surprisingly high GDP per capita. "Some communist country failed" is very different from saying "communism failed," much like "some capitalist country failed" is very different from "capitalism failed." If the US collapsed, would that automatically mean that communism was right? No, of course not. Similarly, the collapse of the USSR was caused by the Brezhnev stagnation and the subsequent over-reaching attempts to liberalize by Gorbachev. Too much, too quick, too dead. The PRC could easily have maintained a socialist society if Deng and the other reformists hadn't done their dickery. What killed the USSR and the socialist economic system in the PRC was not "communism," it was liberalism.
  21. Counterpoints: Cuba, Sweden. Whoa, did I just blow your mind with how right I still am?
  22. Capitalism was proven a failure when the Weimar Republic fell. Countries that were capitalistic are finding better opportunities for economic growth under fascism. Certainly you are not blind to this?
  23. "There's no such thing as a promotion, raise or other reward for anything other than investment. The government is incapable of rewarding hard or good workers, as are people themselves. The sky is a brilliant hue of green all the time." - You guys
