From Gorth's "shaky cam" mobile phone...

Edit: Yeah, apologies for the terrible audio. You just can't capture stuff like that decently on a phone.

I see no symptoms of "shaky cam" or "terrible audio" in this video comrade, very stable and high quality piece.

  2. I poured some 5 hour extra strength energy drink into a 14 percent alcohol content Gold Four Loko can and drank it.  Was very beneficial to my mental state, would do again.

Maybe some day I'll settle down and fall in love and cease this obsession with the petty frivolities of modern consumerist culture but right this instant I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts.

There's NO going back to flat 16:9, EVER.

I think you're a bit delusional there, buddy boy.  As a fellow PC Master Race I see plenty of potential in 1080p, 1440p, and 2160 (4k) monitors that haven't been fully utilized yet.  You're like the alternative Rock/Punk Band who keeps squealing about how their music is secretly better yet nobody outside their niche really gives a **** despite giving it an honest chance.

Of course, the times of today are being compared with the 90s, where the west came out of the Cold War with renewed optimism.

I'm not feeling that, only divisiveness as the Center deteriorates anf Left Wing and Right Wing alternatives seem ti be catching steam.  Which way will we go?  In any case I'm getting the impression that lots of the younger generations want some kind of viable alternative.

  5. Also, if you want to game in 4k 60+ fps range you're gonna need a massive monitor, 32" so be sure you have desk space to cover it.

I consider the sweet spots as follows:

    22" 1080p

    27" 1440p

    32" 2160p (4k)

You're also gonna need a high refresh rate, whilst there's no 32" 4k 100+hz monitor on the market yet, I believe they are currently in development.  So ideally you'd want to wait for those before going full bore on new Team Red hardware.  There's literally no point gunning for triple digit fps on a 60hz monitor.  None.

As of right now, both extremes are kinda screwed in the monitor department.  So as an Intel/Nvidia user I'm settling with a 27" 165hz/fps IPS 1440p.  Could be worse but I kinda wish they'd speed up the polar opposite ideals.  I absolutely hate huge screens and find them overbearing.

I'm mainly going to be in the market for a card that can deliver 4K at approximately 100 FPS most of the tim

I think that may be a bit of a stretch there unless you're talking about older titles.  I'm thinking they should gun for 60-75.

EDIT: upon further inspection it appears that several newish games can actually perform 4k in the 60+ fps range on a 2080 super/ti so I stand corrected.  If Big Navi can topple this, all the better.

I suspect the top Big Navi will be a decent amount- consistently/ noticeably- above the 3080,

I highly doubt it will top it in the 1080p and 1440p fps draw but if they can manage a slight/moderate edge in 4k then they've already grabbed a significant portion of the high end market.  -hopefully-.

Remember, Ryzen CPU's really suck at 1080p and trail behind Intel slightly in 1440p and break even at 4k, so they only have one option here.

That said, my dream pc would be like a 20-21" 1080 240hz IPS monitor running max at 240 fps but such monitors don't exist yet.  Maybe in a few years.

Bernie can't win. Not even with her. The US is not ready to elect a 78 year old communist or social democrat or whatever it is he calls himself. A 5 minute you tube search will turn up enough damming comments from him to doom his candidacy. His comments supporting Castro and Ortega in the 80s will cost him South Florida which means he can't win Florida. Bernie could actually drive  Democrat voters to Trump. Or, more likely, have them stay home. He'll win the young votes. Maybe even some of the minority votes. But that is not enough by half.  Unless Trump is damaged in this  impeachment dumpster fire or somehow implodes (always a distinct possibility with him) a Bernie nomination guarantees his re-election.

Yes he's a Democrat and has "socialist" -whatever that word means anymore- leanings, and he will drive the Hillbilly Democrat and Trump base together if he wins.

Which is why I never supported him.  Old Rotten Party and Old Rotten rheteroic.

Leftism needs a fresh perspective, and these idiots on team blue don't offer it.

@Keyrock Seriously, who gets outraged by this "Russian meddling" other than the DNC/media/elite class?  I don't know anyone in real life who has ever complained about Russians meddling in the 2016 election.  THen again, I don't hang out with many baby boomer DNC loyalists so...

  8. The company I work for always points out the the economy and unemployment are in mint condition (lowest unemployment in 50 years!!!) at our quarterly meetings but there's still millions of people who can't afford basic living.  Unemployment is low sure, but these are menial jobs.  I mean, you got to eat, right?

  9. So I bought a Ryzen 3900k because I never owned one before.  I've always gone Intel.  I am now officially on team 'Yellow' (Amd, Nvidia), and will eventually pick up the 4xxx series and the 3080 ti (or whatever Nvidia's next batch will be called).

Don't make me regret giving up Intel, I'm expecting the 4xxx series Ryzens to have significantly improved clock speeds.

The takings clause of the 5th Amendment is one of the worst things in the US Constitution. The private property of citizens should not, for any reason, be subject to the whims of the state. And the "just compensation" is nebulous enough that the government can and usually does get away with paying pennies on the dollar. Unless of course they find something to arrest you for. Or just "suicide" you. Once upon a time Republicans fought against Eminent Domain seizures. That was until Trump turned them into the government loving bastardized and slightly uglier version of the Democrat Party. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/trump-justice-department-sues-to-seize-private-property-for-border-wall-construction-2019-12-27

Neo Republicans are very ugly but right now it looks like Democrats are more war hungry than Republicans so as a Green/Blue I'll note this awkward shift and never vote Democrats nationally ever again.

  11. That's the thing though, most gamers simply don't give a ****.  You only find vehement opposition buried in dark corners of the internet.

I never even cared about platform until this thread provided some unique insight on the platform "wars".  I have a GoG, Steam, and Epic Games account, and now am seriously considering getting rid of my GoG account because apparently it has fanbois trying to stifle progress.  Reminds me of the American Confederacy, and we all know what happened to them.

Nothing new really, even the Roman emperors struggled to finance and pay their legions.

What's with the constant "Rome" comparison?  If anything the U.S. is like the British Empire 2.0.  You Aussies got it made as you can look at your idiotic dad and older brother with disgust to be the cool rebel of the family.
