  1. Yes, I agree with your post. It's a shame, as it turns, that those that abide the Sith code see only through their own eyes, however, passion doesn't make someone a Sith, some Jedis have 'passion' (ie doesn't supress it enough obviously) and yet they still do the 'right' things, meaning, devotion of feelings, like in case with the Jedis, don't actually make a Jedi necessarily good, and passion doesn't make a Sith bad. It's a big flaw in the Jedi code, however, becose with more compassion and love, they could be better 'knights of the light', so to speak. I know that it would make them easier to fall, however, it would have made them a better persons. In turn, Sith could bump their heads into something and start thinking without loads of adrenalin, stop and look at the situation, think for some time and make rational decision, whatever that might be. That's basically their flaws, they are too big extremes, Jedi are cold and Sith are overly aggressive, don't you think?
  2. I tried the Sandpeople model and it worked all fine (although if I remember correctly, it lacks some animations), but I don't know about Jawas and Rakatans. But yes, I didn't tried them as my party members... just as a new appearance to the pc. I will get around to it and try once I have time.
  3. A little revamping of this old thread... Revan never really fell to the dark side, he was the only one that could resist the temptation of it, he was a truly unique character, he wanted to have control over the republic but not annihilate it like his nihilistic friend Darth Malak, instead he wanted to retake it and strengthen it, fortify it, for something that Revan and his old master thought that was coming. That was the reason why he attacked military installations (unlike Malak who bombarded whole planets) and waged different war of retaking rather than annihilating the republic (that all, ofcourse, before he was rescued by Bastila). He was the only man that could stop Mandalorians really, becose he was the one that was ready to risk just about everything, and never fell back, something that all other Jedis didn't do (hence the Canderious' respect towards Revan). He was master in tactics, and knew the skills and he was also a leader, someone that the people listen to and admire. Good or bad, a point of view, but he wanted to preserve the Republic, atleast in his own way. He shared special bonds with his entourage and men that were loyal to him and they followed him. He is an interesting character becose he was both, Sith and Jedi and in the end, I felt he was neither but that he was rather using powers of both sides and powers he could learn (learning secrets from ancient holocrons) as he was prepairing himself for something (and I'm not talking about retaking the republic - with Star Forge that was an easy task). Well, those are my thoughts of Revan. In any case, he stayed loyal to his goal and eventually saved the republic from power-hungry hands of Darth Malak.
  4. You don't have to have it in a file, it's already in a game, just use KSE to open your save and choose Revan as an appearance there, commit change and off you go. I think the model's name is Unique_Darth_Revan in both games or atleast in kotor. I mean, that's the easiest way to have it if you want your pc to look like Revan. I wish you luck.
  5. Jedi_Master_4h is miiiine Refuse - I can load just about any model except a few (like rancor), and those few crash my game, but I can change appereance (or make a new item using that appearance as a disguise) to just about any jedi/sith/civilian/npc/droid, anything that isn't creature (although I can load some of the creatures too...), turrets and that sort of things, although I never tryied all of them.
  6. Oh, the game should run fine on your laptop, and the fact you're using xp means a one less problem - vista. Yea, it would seem I was wrong, you actually have to load a Telos and be in your quarters to skip it... Yes, hopefully the fixes above will work for you. Sorry that I couldn't be of a more help. I wish you luck on that.
  7. Welcome there, friend. It happens, I know I had similar problems. You didn't said what windows are you running and specs, but try to start the game from beginning, if that happens again, it can be a couple of things... play with the graphics settings a little bit, and if that doesn't help, try the same thing I did when I had similar problems - update the drivers of your soundcard and disable 3d audio. Ofcourse, you could update the drivers of your graphic cards too if they're older than the game. In a worst case scenario, there is a skip telos mod. But in most cases, starting from beginning (or older save) helps, that or graphic/audio settings. Hope it helps... Edit: It can also happen becose of the uncompatibility of mods so be shure to remove any if you have them and try that if all else fail.
  8. I'm so looking forward to the release of the Restoration Project Patch to see all the cut content. My only complaint to the end of the game is that aside what Kreia says, I don't have a clue what happens with the rest of ... exile's entourage.
  9. Well, how much drives do you got? If you got more than one, use the one you installed game from. You can check vista faq part of the lucasarts forum, as Steve suggested. As far as I know, I think it's either a problem with vista compatibility or a problem with a securom, so if you're using any kind of programs for loading disc images, which is illegal, I suggest you quit them and try again. If you're not running such programs, then I guess you try to swap the game where you bought it for a new one (if you think the cd/dvd is damaged - look it up on a light) or send an securom analysis file to the securom support (click here to get to page to learn how to do it).
  10. Yes, well it comes naturally that when you study something from all it's angles you know more about it. The only thing bad about darkside is it's like cigarettes - when you use it for yourself, you can't very easily stop as you can't stop smoking becose you get used to it and like it Lightside or Darkside, it's the action that tell us who's who in the end, and the gray jedis fit it just somewhere in between there, meaning that for a greater goal (or good), they can do things that most lightsiders and darksiders would not - an example being, Sith and Jedi would hardly be neutral in any situation... but they can be perceived sometimes as bad too. Hmm, knowing the darkside doesn't make someone's bad. Using it for own goals does. Matter of fact, I think the best Jedis are actually those who once fell or was close to falling to the dark side and then 'redeemed' (so to speak) back to the lightside, and they are the most powerful too. Followers of Potentium vs the Gray jedi, they are actually somewhat the same thing but with slightly different philosophy, so to speak. While gray jedis are still jedis who operate outside of the council, they are lightsiders as still being jedi, while followers of potentium in turn, by their philosophy, can and did use the darkside as well (saying that there are no evil force there), but both, if I'm not mistaken, worked outside of the council (especially after the potentiums were expelled) so the 'only' difference between them was that followers of potentium used all aspects of the force. I know it's a big difference, but aside that, both are actually the same thing and could be classified as gray jedi, no? I don't know if Qui-Gon Jinn was a gray jedi, though, but he somewhat always seemed to me to be just the right mix of good personality, feelings and Jedi teaching. A perfect mix actually.
  11. Jedi and Sith as philosophies are just that, philosophies. George defined them as 'good' and 'bad' - Jedi are suppose to be unselfish, saving lives of the others and bringing harmony into the galaxy, while the Sith do the things the opposite, they are selfish, working for themselves, taking care of number one, as well as, bringing chaos and exploiting other lifeforms. Now are the Jedi good and are the Sith bad? In reality, the line between the two is very thin... people are shades of gray, and that is perhaps the best way to answer the question of the thread, I think. While Sith are selfish, and they kill for their selfish reasons and for the enjoyment, Jedis in the other hand, suppress their emotion to the point that they kill (when the need be) without any emotion. It seems to me none feel the real weight of such an act. And sometimes I even had a feeling that both the Sith and the Jedis are doing the best for themselves the first. So, to me, something in-between seems to be the right answer. But in the end, it all comes down to actions as a way to define someone, no? Taking risks and even doing some things that would normally be considered as evil seemed to be just the right thing to do in the longer runs (meaning as a good example of sacrificing a few for the benefit of the many). It is still evil thing to do, but a necessary evil sometimes. Bringing balance to 'good' and 'evil', when the two are the real opposite of the other, and when there's nothing in between, and not being one or the other extreme seems to work the best in the long runs, and I agree with refuse on that one it's the most humanist, isn't it? I do think that gray jedis are not fully neutral but stick to the lightside, even a little. Jolee, in my opinion, was a good guy, but he wasn't 'fully' lightsided, but instead had an wise neutral approach, he isn't a stereotipical Jedi, and I got the feeling he was just trying to save the galaxy, and that titles, tags and personal goals wasn't really a thing that matters to him, and that makes him a true good guy (although again, he wasn't 'fully' ls but rather just a little bit). It's hard to choose just one black or white when there's so many colors in between really. The end is what justifies the means. It does sound bad and evil when it comes from the mouths, doesn't it? But it really comes down to that simple. But in the sense of the game, the best experience is played neutral, atleast to me, mainly becose you don't suffer the stereotipical 'good' or 'bad' tags and can simply do whatever you feel in necessary to save the galaxy and your own life. Well, that is what I think. I enjoyed reading the other posts in this thread, there are some really good facts and points there... also, I'm very happy to be a part of the forums.
