  1. There's some new stuff we haven't seen here before. Nothing I would count as spoilery but if you really don't want to see anything new before the game is released, feel free to skip this one. The ultra dark voice of the guard seemed rather odd at first but I came to like it after getting used to it. Looks good overall otherwise, this appears to be the PS3 version. Only negative thing I have to say is that the guards *really* seems to suffer from a case of severe stupidity. Unless they're running up to Mike in an attempt to knock him down for questioning or something, but it looks really weird. I think Thorton's voiceacting is really good here though. EDIT: If anyone knows German, please feel free to post the previewer's thoughts on things.
  2. I'll also throw in my support for ME2. I don't necessarily approve of gutting out some of those things mentioned (instead of improving them which would've been better) but I think it made for a more enjoyable game in the end. ME1 gameplay suffered a bit from being too in the middle of an action game and a RPG, sorta took the worst characteristics from both if you ask me. ME2 moves it more towards action which, again, is a shame in some ways but I also think the game is not as tedious to play. The characters are also way more interesting. And yep, the voiceacting for Subject Zero was good.
  3. Here's the last one: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=244268 Nothing particularly interesting, some of the info is straight from the character vignettes. Most of the ladies seem to have some dark secret in who they're really working for.
  4. That's something I liked as well. They felt unique and had their backstories, but they never turned into the classic "talk your ears off" party companion. I also liked that some were simply not good fighters and of very limited use in combat The characters in Fallout 1 feel a bit more understated in general, not including the Master (who I love) and Gizmo (who I find annoying). Even a character like Harold is pretty toned down and more serious (though still funny) than in the other games. Like I said before, I think it's a good idea to bring more characterization to the followers, but for the love of god, please don't turn them into the standard RPG companions where you have to play the psychologist all the time.
  5. Which still isn't enough. I generally really like the combat of the older Fallouts, but the bigger fights (of which there are many, especially in F2s random encounters) can just suck sometimes. And yeah, people running away outside the grid could be enormously annoying at times.
  6. Same guy, and yep... That guy sure seemed pretty excited, hehe.
  7. I think people not getting what the game really is is definitely a strong point (and has been since it was first released really) against Alpha Protocol and the potential success. A shame if the tutorial doesn't successfully "showcase" the game so to speak. Thanks for checking the info though, Canard PC always seemed like a really good magazine judging from when people translate stuff from it on the Internet and such, they seem to go a bit deeper.
  8. Thanks for the info, sounds strange about the tutorial. What do the positive comments focus on? Also, is there any other mention of game difficulty overall?
  9. Somewhat agree. I guess the logic is that it will act as a sort of "safety net" if you're sneaking up on an enemy but get spotted right before you take him down, then you can quickly take him down with the martial arts. But it feels as if it'd be more fitting to have Stealth, pistols and sabotage.
  10. Here's the article on stealth: http://www.gamesradar.com/f/alpha-protocol...505104139153016
  11. That is good news on the stealth stuff, hopefully that kind of approach will feel rewarding in its own way also.
  12. Man, the thing I hate about following a game in the Internet age is that you know we're just bound to get read the same stuff over and over again before the release of the game. Fun to see Josh in the spotlight though. The question is if Josh is really tall or if that reporter is really tiny. Or maybe both.
  13. That Josh Sawyer is so dreamy! The bit about the companions is interesting. I've never been huge on companions in Fallout, I always liked the solitary feel that playing alone gave you (well, Dogmeat was a given in Fallout 1) but I typically bring along one or two. In F3, I really found it to be awkward to have them along though, so I hope that New Vegas can improve that. Having some more unique content for them sounds good, just as long as they don't turn into the classic story-based RPG partymembers too much (where they feel pretty much integral to experiencing the game in a good way).
  14. Sorry mate, it was a shot in the dark.
  15. The day approaches...
  16. I wonder if Morgoth (was it Morgoth? can't remember) still thinks the game will be cancelled.
  17. I think it depends on the situation. It's not totally random after all, if I put a lot of skill points into Speech then I would comfortably choose those options despite there maybe being a small chance of failing. Having just instant death situations, then yeah, I'd agree with you there. But to use an example for New Vegas, there is a chance of using Explosives in the dialogue with Pete to get some dynamite. Now, I love that the dialogue option changes on itself depending on your skill, I think that's great. But if you choose the Explosives line with a low Explosives skill, and maybe come across as a real idiot or amateur, wouldn't it make sense if Pete (if we just assume for discussions sake), being nice old man who feels he has a lot of responsibility in handling dangerous stuff like dynamite, would be doubtful in dealing with you again? Crude example but you know...
  18. You are a special and controversial flower Gromnir. Not much that much actually new stuff in the previews. Not a fan at all of the skill numbers, red text showing if there's a chance of failing (too which there appears to be no consequence judging from what's been said before) and all that... If hardcore mode and the seemingly more political plot are the things which I think are great news, I feel the dialogue stuff (as I understand them) is the worst news thus far.
  19. The first aid stuff is really interesting, I wonder if there's a negative side to using Epinephrine Spikes as well.
  20. Combat and weapons: http://www.gamesradar.com/f/alpha-protocol...380211162187157 Nothing particularly new or interesting as far as I can tell.
  21. And yet another preview, this one feels the game is a bit unpolished in some places, an example given is that the cover system can feel awkward at times. But overall it's very positive, and confirms that different playthroughs will feel very different: http://www.xxlgaming.com/newspage.asp?which=616
  22. This is really great and will likely be really good news for the combat gameplay.
  23. Another fairly small and overall quite positive preview: http://www.fragland.net/previews/Alpha-Protocol/198/ It seems like, even during these last months, work has been made on the game.
