  1. Has anyone recently been able to get the Good Food, Better Friends buff to stack with food?   Recently like Jan-Feb 2020?  Because I'm trying -- using all the pause-resting techniques described in this thread, including on-ship-deck pause resting, and I simply cannot get it to stack.  Either it overwrites food or food overwrite it.

I'd give it to myself via the console but I don't know how to do that.

  2. Super cool build/concept. How does it work vs large groups especially OP ones like the Fampyrs/ghouls before you enter Splintered Reef castle, or the Fampyr Cave, of the Sea-lashed Crypt?  Is it always shoot, retreat, stealth, repeat for these big groups?  And what about space-limited areas like Sissak nest?

And how did you tackle the ultra-boss with the obelisks?

    Thanks!

Does your build good for PotD solo TB?
And if so, may I please have a link to you guide? :)

It's in Boerer's build guide post.  Never tried it on TB but probably works fine. Some things changed about it like not multicasting Wall of Draining but it shouldn't be a big problem to overcome.

Against enemies with ArcaneCleanse/Dampener use summons and ranged spells and stay at a distance.

As I mentioned in my BDD priest/wiz guide (thaumaturge) -- which was largely inspired by stuff Raven/Victor did -- also Slicken is great against small groups of Cleanse/Dampner mobs if they're not KD immune.  Like Concelhaut and even some of the Fampyr areas.   When they're on their ass, they can't cast.  And blood mage for instance (esp with Brilliant) can basically chain-cast slickens.

Surprised there weren't any Warlock builds in the megathread. I was going to make my next run (if I ever got around to it) a Berserker/Evoker, too. Get real mad and blow stuff up. I was planning to do it in Turn-Based though, so I'll probably drop Dex to 8 and spread the points to Con or Per and let Frenzy/Wild Sprint/Wizard buffs cover Initiative when necessary.

I'd love to see a PoTD solo Warlock build that feels badass to play.

  6. Unless something has changed with the Community Patch, the problem that always held me back from doing this was the lack of consistent keywords for poison/acid and the lack of +PL items.  The only ones I remember were the Chromo quaterstaff and the Helm of Grotto Deep and maybe Spider Silk Robe.  It was a lot harder to stack Acid/Poison PL vs say Fire, and the keyword issue held it back even then.

  7. First of all, thanks for the detailed description and video.  Super cool.  So great to finally see some new interesting builds.

I remember a lot of testing with FF when it came out, and the self-healing was pretty underwhelming, so this looks like a potential nice change.

Am I wrong, or is the build largely based around auto-attacks with some minor usage of Sworn Rival?  That is, a lot of the active offensive attack Monk abilities (Stunning Surge, etc.) and Paladin abilities (Flames of Devotion, Beacon) aren't being used?   Maybe that was just the AI in the video?  Doing a whole solo PoTD run auto-attacking things to death seems like it might get boring after a while.

Have you tested this on PoTD in the cave with the Lich?  I actually think it's slightly harder than the Fampyr Cave, as is Splintered Reef entrance.  What about late-game stuff like the Overseers or Vithrak Lair in last DLC?  Or SSS?  Or any megabosses?

Again, cool stuff and thanks for posting.

  8. So my two cents adjusted for the topic.

One of the cool things that my Deathless Thaumaturge build really liked doing was wading into groups of enemies and just casting SoHF and PoHF right on top of himself/them (since he couldn't die, largely).  With +PL items they both hit really hard, and the not-dying part was what made it fun.  It felt like priests in some cases get more mileage out of the fire spells, whereas with MC Wizard you can use the Ninagauth's teachings book and rely on ice-related AOEs etc.

  9. I beleive you can reliably resist it with around 190 will which you can get to from gear and buffs. That still won't let you resist Arcane Cleanse, sadly (its largely unresistable).  However interrupts work on mobs trying to cast Damper, and frankly Slicken is the bees knees for this (incluing all the mobs at Concelhaut, Fampyrs too).  Or you can try to watch individual mobs for the cast icon and interrupt it with Thrust of Tattered Veils or other single target interrupts.

  10. I meant to ask this as well but is blood sacrifice meant to be used in place of empower or is it a spam type thing to where I can use it to increase dmg output? I am assuming it's limited and that's why it has been mentioned to dump points in con to help keep the self dmg low.

One thing you can bear in mind - you can use it to self-damage yourself at the start of combat to trigger Llengarth's Safeguard as well as potentially to get your health low enough to use Potion of Final Stand, both of which you can then extend (along with all other buffs) with Wall of Draining.  The trouble with Blood Sacrifice is that if you have cast a few spells from different levels, it's pretty random on which ones it will give back, and you can easily kill yourself spamming it too much unless you have a no-death effect (like Potion of Final Stand).

  11. All this talk about Ascendant made me think about how to actually make the Ascendant amazing (and it works both in TB and real time but ofc is more relevant in TB, since Ascendant is already ok in real time) and as for pretty much every class the answer is blood mage.

Don't wanna derail the original topic too much which was single class, but the short version is wall of Draining + Ascended + Blood Sacrifice to get walls back.

Your Ascended status will never end and ofc other effects like potion of final stand will never end, so even solo you will never die and can use stuff like Willbreaker or Magrans chosen belt/hostiles from killing tentacles with Essence interrupter, if you feel like enemy will is too high for your walls.

Honestly just Willbreaker and psychovampiric shield should be enough even vs Doru's high ish will.

You'll still die if you're relying on Potion of the Final Stand and you get Dampened/Cleansed and can't heal thru it, tho, right?

Same problems as a BDD build....

It's an interesting idea, though, an Ascendant/Bloodmage ... do you think it would be more powerful than a BDD-based Thaumaturge?

  12.

All the megaboss builds I've seen here and on youtube are Helwalkers. Is there a reason not to use Nalpazca? I know arcane dampener clears drug effects, but if your will is high enough to make it miss anyway, you would think Nalpazca would be equally good. Is there something I'm missing?

The helwalker has higher might and can kill the mega bosses faster (needs less stacks of Resonant Touch). But Nalpazca is also good and probably more reliable overall.

What Kaylon said and what you said - I think the fact that Arcane Cleanse and Damper remove the drug effects and cause you not to be able to heal (afaik) are the downsides, along wiht the lower might.

  13. So after testing this out on stream today it seems like food pause stacking only works AFTER you got Good food better friends.

Can you explain how it works?  I still don't understand the "pause."

Are you saying you get Good Food, Better Friends first, then literally "pause" the game before resting to get a food bonus?

If that's the case, how does pausing for food affect any other no-rest bonuses (like dawnstar) you already picked up?  Or you literally have to do Good Food, Better Friends first before anything?

Also how are able to "combine all foods in game"?  We seem closer to cracking how that guy had so many stacked food buffs when he claimed monk was OP killing the ooze boss....

  14. Reposting here in case someone needs it:

OK, so fun fact:  the Weyc's Wand (from FS dlc) gives Courageous (+5 resolve, immune to interrupts) on empowering a Priest spell (if soulbound) ...and that duration appears to be extended by maybe Intelligence, maybe by Empower itself (if you use the Empower ability that extends inspirations), and DEFINITELY by Salvation of Time and Wall of Draining.  I just stacked it to 445 seconds.  And it persists after Combat ends, like Brilliant (from Shroud of Phantasm).  So you basically walk around with immunity to interrupts for as long as you can stack it (Priest/Wiz build).  Use it to buff and then switch to stat-sticks for nuking.

OK, it comes late (FS) but this is worth nothing.  It lets you forego carrying a wound and using Revku cap, as far as i can tell.
