  1. Haha, same thing happened to me. I was so happy about how strong my cipher was and then he more or less killed the whole party since he was on the back row with range weapons. I can't imagine how someone must feel who doesn't read the forums at all and just plays the game. There's a lot of tooltips that don't add up to the actual function. Maybe they should make a DLC only for streamlining things with no new content. At least they'd have the time then as I understand that they're on a tight budget and all. I'd buy that DLC.
  2. If I may suggest a second ring: I'd take Kuaru's Prize. I'm playing a quite similar build right now and that ring has everything you'd want.
  3. Damn, that sure is nostalgic. I had totally forgotten about those sounds but hearing them makes the same feeling from back then come right back. I feel as if I'm 14 again, haha. Thanks for that! Best regards.
  4. Thank you for the reply. If I find out something else I'll write it in here. EDIT: Just remembered something about the last crash - when Tekehu cast his Relentless Storm it still showed the graphic effect of the lightning, but the sound for it never came. The picture froze for a split second and then the system restarted with some cracking sound from my headphones. While rebooting I also heard some weird cracking sounds from my headphones that I don't usually get while starting up. It made me think that it also might have something to do with some sound effect or something. But to be honest, I'm groping in the dark here. I'll try to reproduce it and listen more closely.
  5. Well, this is frustrating. I got out of that sea battle only to get another crash in some standard fight. So it doesn't seem to be the sea battles only. This time it crashed when I let Tekehu cast his Relentless Storm. So I guess it has something to do with the effects. But since I had basically all graphic effects disabled I have no idea what's going on. It seems I can't really play the game as it is. Help would be appreciated. I'd really love continue with the game. Best regards.
  6. Ok, so now I got the same issue again as I reported in this Post. To bring you up to speed on the problem: My system crashes with the screen going from the game immediately to black and then the system reboots from zero, as if I had just pressed the "on" button. Windows then asks me if I want to start normally or whatever. But I'm not exactly sure it's the same problem as in my previous post. I didn't get any crashes lately since disabling "Lights" in the graphics options so I decided to open a new topic on the cause. Also the crashes now only occur in sea battles, meaning fights on deck (as opposed to randomly everywhere before), as the title suggests and always, when some cipher power or a somehow similar effect gets triggerd. Which is a real problem because I'm playing a cipher in my current playthrough. I tried disabling more or less all additional graphic options but it didn't change anything. Sometimes I can finish a sea battle without the system crashing but it's quite annoying by now to have my machine reboot every few minutes. It's not totally reproducible and I have no idea what might be the exact cause of it. I hope someone can help me out here. It seems to have to do with the recent patch as I didn't have the problem anymore before that (since the problem mentioned in the other post anyway). Find a savegame before my latest sea battle, my dxdiag and the output log attached to this post for what it's worth. Unfortunately no crash output as it's not making any log entries when taking the whole system with it. Best regards. DxDiag.txt output_log.txt
  7. Also a Cipher with "Dominate" or "Whisper of Treason" really helps. You almost don't have to do anything anymore. I let the Dragons kill Lengrath
  8. Thanks for the recommendation. Already tried all suggestions in there. I limited the framrate by using Nvidia-Inspector. I really like that tool. But it didn't change anything concerning the crashes though. What I kinda noticed with my crashes is that they always occur when some kind of effect appears, for example some spell is cast or some random thing happens in the vicinity. So I tried to disable "Lights", "Ambient Occlusion" and "Buoyant Objects" in the graphic options and haven't had a crash since (about 5 hours of playtime). Strange, that that hasn't been mentioned in any of the topics so far. I'll try around a bit to find out which option exactly did it once I have the time.# EDIT: It seems to be the "Lights" option. I enabled the other two and had no crashes. If I enable "Lights" it takes about 10 Minutes (or until the next fight with spells). So if anyone has the same problem, they might wanna try this.
  9. As the topic says my game crashes randomly during play. I haven't been able to accertain what might be the exact reason for it since it's not constistent or reproducible. Sometimes it's during a fight, sometimes just while running around a map, sometimes just when I cast a spell or whatever. So far it never happened on the world map or in a dialogue screen. Sometimes it doesn't crash for hours, then it just takes a few minutes of playing the game. My guess is that it has something to do with my graphics card but even with trying a lot of combinations of settings, as mentioned in other topics on the forum, I haven't been able to get rid of the crashes. Since it always takes the whole computer with it as if I pulled the plug I don't get a crash log either. The dxdiag and standard output-logfile are attached. DxDiag.txt output_log.txt It would be seriously nice if you could help me get rid of this problem. Best regards. EDIT: I just remebered something else. Back when the game just came out I didn't use to get any crashes. It only started somewhere in June I guess. But I can't pinpoint it anymore exactly since I don't have all that much time to play. So my guess is that some patch changed something that my system didn't like all that much.
  10. I don't know if this issue has been addressed already but I wasn't able to find anything about it via the search function. I went to the "Bent Bough Forest" on the 16th and was able to obtain the sword, as it should be. The problem is, that the location didn't disappear after I left so I thought I might have overlooked something, an enemy or somesuch and went back to the location (still on the 16th mind you) and the whole thing just repeated itself and I got a second Sanguine Greatsword. Just out of curiosity I tried a third time and I got another one. So now I've got 3 Sanguine Greatswords (not that I've got more group members who'd be able to wield it). Now, I really don't want to complain but I can't imagine that this is working as intended so I thought I'd mention it here. Best regards.
