and anyway, when push comes to shove, the really powerful stuff is not subclass-dependent

kinda little disagree, IMHO monk solo is about getting lv19 and "constant" WotW and for that You need wound generation, for that (if you dont wan't abuse Eders armor) helwalker or FF is better than plain monk and as for helwaker if I remember correctly I needed 22 might outside combat to have 2 WotW in a row (to take command of battlefield with Ajamuut cloak), it was all about having enough +dmg taken (from might & hel subclass, around +60%) to push DoT from Hylea talons past 8 dmg (+1 wound) on first tick, and there are other tricks like doing WotW from engagement (with parting sorrow) for discount etc, plus having 2-3 concetration points is a must have on harder fights that starts "independent"(ambush on bridge in BoW) so You will not get interrupted

funnily enough, pets (not animal companions) can also get galawain's buff. normally completely unnoticable but i had a run where my obsidian wurm got the galawain's buff where they get a random tier 3 inspiration. it was actually a wee bit annoying since every time i reloaded the game or zoned into a location i'd see like the inspiration combat text float above the pet. and because the RNG seed is set at the start of the game, this lasted the entire run.

no bettter feeling than Kaz (+1 stealth) randomly getting "prowling" (invis) on Ultimate run so You can't pick him up in Sayuka but You counted on that bonus for stealing shroud of phantasm cape 🤦‍♂️

I don't know why, but I just had 2 mages both get the unique Ninagauth's Death Ray from Ikorno (bounty), who obviously shouldn't and doesn't have that spell. I think I also stole some spell that wasn't in the grimoire from low level enemies, notably that guy who attacks you after you trade with Dunnage's tavern owner. Can somebody explain it technically?

looks like some wizards have spells they shouldn't have to spice thing up, Katrenn is another example (Concelhaut's Crushing Doom)

@Waski, am I correct in assuming that you use Mental Binding so frequently because (1) it doesn't break your invisibility and (2) to immobilize foes to keep them in place to be drained? I never used that power much but I can see in your video that I undervalued it.

exactly, otherwise I struggled to hit with WoD with all battlefield moving

Wow. Is it just cipher spells or multi class casters also benefit?

All, just run a solo hierophant few months ago (bm/ascnd), suboptimal build draft abusing Arkemyr invis  rolftstomped 98% of encounters, tbh I got bored of it somwhere in BoW (I did FS, SSS and tested vs megabosses)

bonus points  for disintegration not breaking Call to Slumber lol

edit another quirk was casting screaming souls on skeletal wizards with spell reflct on, you won't get dmg but AoE will trigger
