  1. You rock. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heh Wasteland is my all time fav. (The most influential game in my book) I forgot two oldie but goldie games. Pool of Radiance (original) (Thanks J.E. for reminding me) Curse of Azure Bonds
  2. Wasteland Neuromancer Dragon Wars Maniac Mansion Settlers 1-2 Age of Empires 1-2 Fallout 2 IWD 1 AVP 1-2 Games of the last couple of years simply don't tickle my fancy. Sorry.
  3. Hi guys Would you play a true CRPG (Fallout style) set in the WWII era? There would be say a few German deserters on the russian front and somehow you should get back to Germany through foul and fair. Or British POWs in the heat of Northern Africa... Or American paratroopers left in the heart of Germany... Let your imagination run wild. There are only fantasy and scifi RPGs; why shouldn't there be a new kind of setting? I know publishers don't like taking too much risk, but it's good to fantasize once in a while. Or should we let the idea die on the vine? My last question: what other setting would you find interesting?
  4. Because the I play video games, not games. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, by "no graphics" I didn't mean a white (or black) screen. There are very good old games with poor graphics. (At least by modern standards) One example that comes to mind is Wasteland. It's an excellent game with simplified blocks that represent walls and whatnot. I think I'd still enjoy that game, despite its obsolete gfx. Another good example is the aforementioned Alter Ego. I played it yesterday for four hours. Problem is, many games try to sell themselves on graphics and there's nothing (or not much) behind it. (I'm not talking about Oblivion here)
  5. No. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why?
  6. Do you remember this game? It has no FMVs, its graphics are obsolete (if there's any), but it's still an enjoyable game with plenty of choices that have an effect on your progress. Can you guys still enjoy games with no graphics?
  7. FMV? What for? Check this uber game out
  8. "Well... you are what you is, you is what you am and a cow dont make ham " Mr. Zappa knew the ropes.
  9. Will Fallout 3 have the same gameplay?
  10. I think the gfx are very nice, the forests in particular. The conversation reminds me of Times of Lore. http://homepages.tesco.net/~parsonsp/html/times_of_lore.html It's a c64 game from 1988. ToL was an excellent game of its time anyway. Oblivion's conversation system could have been a little more complex.
  11. I'm using Firefox (WinXP) and it works.
  12. Download the movie Opinions?
  13. Hi Jumjalum "I'm going to try it on my main rig, it should work but do you have any tips in case?" Yeah, TH1 requires a powerful machine. Although the sequel features more areas, more NPCs and stuff, I've taken care of several speed issues and it's more playable on an average machine. I hope you'll enjoy the game. If you're stuck, send me a mail or post your questions in the topic of the mod. Zoli
  14. Hi guys If you want to play a long HC game, play my NWN mod: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Modules.Detail&id=3799 And if it's not enough, you should wait for the sequel which will be even longer, around 100-150+ hours (after ten months of hard work I'm at about 80 percent) The first one lacks henchman interaction, the sequel will feature it. TH1 has 157,000+ words of convo, the sequel already has 200,000+ and is growing. If you have problems while playing, just drop me a mail. Info on the vault page. Have a good time.
  15. EnderWiggin "Is it being released next week? Can I preorder it yet?" If you mean Newcomer , the game is already freely downloadable from our site. (appreciationware) Or... if you want a package, you can order it from Protovision. The next version will have a lot of fixes and enhancements. (bugfixes, new proofreading, NTSC fix and other hardware compatibility issues)
  16. I think you had only modern machines in mind, but there are STILL other platforms ) www.newcomer.hu Actually, this game is still in development, since we are working on revision 3. (there will be a harddisk support for example to be able to play it more smoothly) If you have or had a liking for that little machine, try this one for a change. If you like long and complex story driven hardcore rpgs, You won't be disappointed (not even in the world of PCs I can assure you). Thanks for your time
