  1. So what happens if the AI plays a card to 19 but the player is also 19? This scenario is not covered so by default it just does End Turn for me since it doesn't match the case for stand because player score is not lower than AI score.

I would implement it like you said, but with a slight modification. The AI should stand only if the player has already ended his turn. Since the chance of busting is high for the player on the next turn. If the player hits 20 the AI still keeps playing. This can be important if it's the deciding game for the player.

But whether the decision not to stand is right in other cases also depends on the sidecards of the player (existence of negative cards). A look at the player's cards might be helpful here... :)

  2. Overall it was a good game but I just found the story (Force Wound/Echo/Void etc, and True Sith stuff) stupid and not my taste so I voted #3.

I didn't vote #3, rather #1, but I agree with you on that. These parts of the story(Force Wound/Echo/Void) and the roles of the characters therein were confusing and surreal on my first play-through. (Does it matter that I was ill and had a temperature of 39

  3. It's wasn't a stalemate, Mace was wiping the floor with Sidious.  He would have killed him, if not for Anakin.

    Did you read the excerpt?

Because comments from Mace like "He's too strong for me" don't sound like something a guy would say when they're "wiping the floor" with someone.

"Wiping the floor" is exaggerative. But Palpatine's "face lift" tells that he also isn't wiping any floor...

  4. What Nur said was also my impression of the movie. And you don't even have to read the novel to get this. Palps tries to flee from Yoda. Remember his facial expression (fear/pain) when he realises that Yoda is a much more powerful force user. And for the duel with Mace Sidious _really_ needed the help of Anakin as his saber skills and lightning storm didn't had the desired effect.

There's no proofs for "faked duel" theory.

It's the invention of Sidious devotees who haven't watched the film attentively enough.

ps.: Quote from GL to fan speculations: "Palpatine is NOT behind EVERYTHING!"

  5. The content patch of the new music and new movies was stated to be released a few days after the last patch.  That is what John Morgan said.  I hold him accountable for the misinfomation.

The topic starter complained about plotholes and the unfinished ending in the first place. Now you are only talking about the multimedia patch. And John Morgan didn't promise *new* movies but better resolutions.

  6. You scored as Obi-Wan Kenobi (Post Death of Qui-Gon Jinn). You are most like Obi-Wan Kenobi, after the death of his master. You have a powerful prescence and take the natural role of a leader. You respect the wisdom of those to come before you and are always training for personal growth. You now train the lightsaber form Soresu, a near completely defensive form, after witnessing what you considered a fatal flaw in your master\'s technique when he fell to Darth Maul. Your offense is carefully precise. You devote your life to harmony achieved through The Force and are one of four Jedi to retain identity after death.

The quiz was a bit long (and repetitive) at the end...

  7. I enjoy programming more than anything else, yet I can't seem get my head around say modding or writing my own simple game.

Forget modding and such things. I think it would be better for you to combine hardware with gaming (which I think motivates you the most). You should develop GPUs and physics processor units and then test your systems excessively.

  8. It has been much discussed here. Winter lasts till the middle of March. Thus February is a winter month, too.

But if "Winter" was meant to include Febuary or March, then the trailer would have been announcing a release date of "February or March 2004", a date 5 to 6 months prior to the release of the trailer, which makes absolutely no sense.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that a LucasArts rep told Gamespot that their "Winter 2004" extends to February 2005.

  9. 1. No, the Rakata were not the first Sith. The original Sith empire rose up 75,000 years before the Republic then degraded and were eventually taken over by the Dark Jedi.

    2. As the creators of Hyperdrives you can't help but think they might be on more than one planet.

    3. There could be good Rakata, yes.

    @1

The Sith were primitive inhabitants of one single world (Korriban??). There was no Sith empire before the arrival of "exiled" Dark Jedi which happened after the foundation of the Republic. The Dark Jedi declared themselves as "The Sith Lords" and thereby set up the cult.

  10. I'll repeat it because it can't be said often enough:

C++ programs can be faster than C# programs. Then again assembly language can be faster than C++ program wise. Development time for C# is faster than C++ but programs can be (max) 20% slower. I'd also suggest that C# has a nicer learning curve and that programs will have far less runtime errors. C++ has a nice range of supported tutorials; you can find several books specifically geared toward developing games in C++. Though C# has the same potential, you'll have to work harder to get the necessary information and instruction.

If anyone ever tells you that language X is the best then they're incorrect. Imagine a group of construction workers sitting around arguing whether a hammer, screwdriver, or handsaw is the best tool or a group of mathematicians debating on the merits of addition verses multiplication. My situations are wandering into the realm of the absurd but the point is a valid one. A programming language is a tool, each has their strengths and weaknesses, and while the emotional tie many programmers develop toward their language of choice is romantic, it often provides a stumbling block for those in search of informed but unbiased opinions.

    You are so right... :-

  11. Don't know whether this has been discussed here but I found that the official "trailer" included with the game announced that the game would be released in "Winter 2004", which can only mean one thing, late December, 2004.

It has been much discussed here. Winter lasts till the middle of March. Thus February is a winter month, too.

  12. I wonder why George Lucas made such a big secret about Anakin being Vader and Palpatine being the Emperor. It is even that subtle, only if you are very very clever you can realize it after having watched every episode for at least five times. That's why even some die-hard SW fans don't know the Chancellor actually is the Sith Lord.
