  1. Woedica Writs are pretty nice since they can bypass enemy Inspirations, IMO Universalist is the most OP character you can have in a party playtrough in terms of how faceroll the game becomes once you start casting those buffs and hots while staying stealthed preferably. Once you are out of stealth you can just go into cat and start the salvation of time shenanigans.

I pick Wael instead of Woedica when going for trial of iron tho as it’s safer choice

  2. For triple crown party you want to have proper healer and that basically means Druid, you also want a priest that can cast barring deaths door and salvation of time to make your characters invincible for some time, you can combine these two classes  into one multi class character Lifegiver/Priest.

You will also want to have another character capable of reviving allies in case your main healer gets knocked out. For your MC you probably want someone who can reset the fights via invisibility in case somethig goes very wrong and you would lose the run otherwise, just hire new companions In case it happens.

Good main tank who can pull entire group by himself while rest of the party is in stealth self buffing is also very important and trivialises most fights, your healer can even stay in stealth for a while at the start of the combat as long as it’s buffing allies and not targetting the enemies.

It is important to have reliable ranged interrupts mostly for arcane dampeners those are deadly.Using summons at the beginning of the fight will help a lot too as meat shields and enemies tend to target them with spells quite often. Stack AR as much as you can while not hurting your recovery too much AR is the most important defensive stat. Melee bruisers usually end up in godmode later in the game especially when Universalist is buffing them like crazy, Fighters have insane survivability as long as you don’t eat arcane dampener, paladins have extra high Defenses, all kinds of rogues are very good as long as they Aren’t squishy, take a look at trickster  for example  (unless you commit to SC Assassin watcher then play it very safe early and achieve god mode with vanishing strikes+wits of death herald which will trivialise the endgame). You need to have some dispel ability in your party like arcane dampener or that skill that ranger has it is very important to both dispel enemies buffs and interrupt the arcane dampeners they throw at you and you kinda have to be able to do at range and not in melee.

You should also camp some ingredient vendors to craft specific potions that will prevent your party members from dying : Ironskin Invisibility Refuge some other good ones too like piercing strikes or the one that decreases hostile effects by 10 seconds

You can do pretty safe weapon run right after Port Maje gets you some soul bound weapons voulge  and blightheart(need intimidate 5 + 2 from Port Maje inn buff for total of 7) those will upgrade to superb for free, you can also get legendary raw damage pistol superb spear superb large shield and superb brigandine you can find these on the island with Colapsed coal mine and Eccea you can kill Eccea without aggroing other enemies in the mine.Essence Interrupter is good early game breaker if you enchant it, do not use it without enchanting to make all summons friendly. There are some other places you can visit for free weapons at early game but I would not consider them safe for first play trough.

Coming into mid game you will want to have your characters equipped with with different damage type weapons in spare weapon sets , plenty of enemies are immune to pierce or has high pierce and slash dr so having crush damage options is crucial, elemental damage weapons are extremely good especially shock damage ones for heavy armoured targets who quite often have low shock DR

Toughest part is to kill Megaboses on first try as it will require good knowledge of the fights

I’m sure there is something I missed tho 😂

  3. Eld Nary is so good that when I used it first time on multi class chanter I rerolled SC chanter immediately

With Blightheart it gets even better as quite often you will be able to cast second one before first one expires and then combat is basically finished you can just watch the fireworks

  4. I recently played trough the game with SC Blood Mage watcher on PotD +upscalling+deadly deadfire and at no point in the game I actually had issues because of low con and res (5 with beraths blessing) I had Druid healer in my group and I could spam the spells pretty much all the time, as a wizard you just use one of the deflection buffs at the start and enemies will never target you and from the mid game and up you have more than enough health to restore spells non stop. And if you dump con and res you can max other 4 stats pretty much and since I can get +2dex+evocation PL gloves right at the start of the game I went 20 5 18 20 20 5 ends up with all nice 20s. Early game you might want to use necklace of fireballs instead of blood sacrifice that’s the only drawback of low con. This game is way too easy to be afraid of low chance that u might get killed once because of blood sacrifice + random attack which almost never happens because enemies never target self buffed wizards. And there is no bigger waste than defensive stats that are not being used. Since op won’t have any proper damage dealers in his party he kinda needs to have all the damage on his MC especially since he won’t sacrifice anything for the damage.

  5. You can start the game with 20 mig 20 per 20 int 18 dex 5 con and res and you won’t have any problems because of it, early in the game you just gotta use gear that gives health and con and necklace of fireballs instead of abusing blood sacrifice, there aren’t that many fights before neketaka anyway and after neketaka you will be ready to use blood sacrifice at will, this is considering you play with a party and have a healer and if you do have a healer blood mage actually puts healers to good use same as healing potions.

  6. Excuse me, but why we are dumping might here? It increases damage just the same as healing so it will have no effect on raw dmg/regen part also since you will be using ring to decrease the damage you will end up with more healing than damage because of might.

My bloodmage was able to spam middle level spells via Blood Sacrifice with all the regen+healing items, with Druid/chanter/paladin/priest help you can even go for PL9 spells.

I had 25 might no less than that in combat

  7. Luminous Adra potion is like a life-hack for deadfire however it is an exception and not really an active combat action but something you do after or before it to make your life easier (aka you don’t need to backtrack to rest,Backtracking to rest has no drawbacks tho so the potion might as well not be there, and majority of injuries you get from scripted interactions anyway)

  8. To be honest just because I can make few endgame bosses much easier with food buff doesn’t make food good or useful in general throughout the game, it gets outclassed by just going to Luminous Bathouse and getting both bonuses for extra class resource,at least it won’t get replaced by random inspiration or active ability.

Meanwhile some potions and scrolls are really decent they are not very accessible, as they require materials that are pretty random to get(unless you spam wait at Cutzils) and some of them require materials that you will never use on crafting a scroll or a potion especially not in early-mid game where you want all the rare materials for item enchants, and by the time you can spare those mats for scrolls and potions you most likely don’t need them anymore as the game has been outleveled already.

Obviously with some meta gaming knowledge you can make good use out of all these consumables but the effort won’t be worth the effect more often than not.

  9. Cruel / Rational is standard because priest of woedica always in my party, also these are usually the best dialogue options rational if you want to keep it friendly and cruel if you are about to slaughter the npcs

The only times I don’t pick woedican as priest subclass is when I am building priest multiclass that is not a healer/support then sure I go for Wael or Skaen or Magran but if I want a support character I can’t think of anything better than Woedica/X

If you use a jumping weapon like Fire in the Hole then you will have 2*AoE² hits. This can even mean you hit enemies that are totally out of the original AoE of Clear Out since the jump (with attached AoE) will reach them. If you even have Driving Flight AND Fire in the Hole you'll have 3*AoE² which usually totally annihilates everything. This last thing is only doable with basic Clear Out though (since the upgrades are PL8).

Looks like I finally found offensive shield build 😂

    thanks !

  11. To rub even more salt on to this wound whenever I decide to actually craft some scroll to help myself with  early game fight I realise that crafting a simple scroll will require same materials as enchanting items to legendary adra ban especially which can’t be bought in stores and there are very few fixed adra bans in the game compared to how much u might need to enchant different items to legendary

  12. Stacking rules are honestly miserable, items you can stack same effects as many times as you want but food and potions get replaced by active abilities which makes them mostly useless unless you need some affliction resistance for end game fight. The thing is that even if items did not stack players would still use items in item slots just with different effects, however since its food and potion effects that doesn’t stack they get neglected to the point where i never use any potions that aren’t for healing and penetration and food is only used for affliction immunities against bosses and I just spam Luminous Bathouse bonuses every time i need to rest(you can stack luminous bathhouse rest bonus with the bonus of taking a bath which nets you +2 class resources for martial classes) . Make potions great again for PoE3!

Weapon modals being considered active effects is huge oversight too, they should have been unique effects that stacks with everything since all of them have drawbacks attached to the buffs.
