  1. I think, I won't just need a new PC for Cyberpunk 2077, but for this one, too. I've been watching KCD for quite a while, being just semi-interested because of a lack of information, but this looks good. Maybe it'll be more than just an interesting setting, maybe I'll like the story, even though you can sum it up in two sentences so far.

  2. I haven't been really hyped about a game since 2011, but I am now. I've got a feeling that Kingmaker might be one of the games that end up in my list of all time favorite RPGs. It sounds like the kind of game that will not just be fun for a while, but will raise the bar for other games to come.

What does it take to get on this list?

-Either character skill before player skill or at least the feeling that the characters' levels actually make a difference, or it doesn't really feel right to me.

-Don't just let me fight army after army, don't overdo it with the amount of battles. That's tedious.

-Give me several solutions for quests, so I can actually roleplay.

-Interesting subquests, that show me more of the world I've just entered.

-As we're talking about worlds: Make it fascinating. Draw me in, make it feel alive and realistic in itself.

-Give me interesting NPCs I like to remember. They don't even need to be in my party, though I'd appreciate that in a party RPG.

If Kingmaker will match the criteria? I have  a feeling that it will, at least the information we've been given so far sounds like it could. Let's hope I'm right.

  3. It's just Bethesda isn't the type of company to take "risks" and making a sci-fi rpg would be an overly risky move - even if people would appreciate the idea, appreciating the final product is a different thing altogether. For example, all the changes that Bethesda made to Fallout 4 were pretty much requested by the community but when he product released was only recieved well by half of them maybe.

If they announced anything new at E3, it would probably be something about Fallout 4. I think would would be better off is if they announced a collaborative project eirh Obsidian... perhaps Fallout: Nuked Orleans or anything Fallout really with Obsidian doing the writing of course.

I'm not so sure if it's that risky. The indie market is currently full of space exploration games and procedurally generated planets or similar concepts. No Man's Sky isn't alone anymore, after all. It's a little trend Bethesda would be picking up with a AAA game, if the rumors were true. That in a mix with the usual Bethesda formula isn't really a risk anymore, imho.

  4.

Geralt von Riva ... who don't cry their tragedy and self-pity in my face every five minutes.

Wellllll... You're right that Geralt doesn't cry over his tragedy, he just constantly sulks over his tragedy.

Yes, but at least he can take his own decisions.

  5. if it's optional and well written, it can add to the role playing, but I don't care if there isn't any romance option. What I really don't need in my games sex scenes. I don't mind them enough to avoid those games, but I don't think they add anything, and most of the time they're not even looking good, rather awkward.

Positive romance moments in a game? Hm.

I liked how Shepard looked at Kaidan's foto in her quarters before heading off to the suicide mission. I thought "Aw, she's missing him." It was kind of cute.

And I liked how Atton came after my Jedi in KotOR 2, just to tell her to be careful and hand her some medipacks. That was cute, too. I don't know if that counts for a romance, but I liked it.

But apart from that? Nothing I found really memorable.

I have a lot of complaints, though. Especially that Bioware seems to think women would prefer tragic cry babies. If you add romance options, give my lady a man, for goodness sake. She fights gruesome undead on a daily basis. She doesn't have the time or nerves to tuck him in at night because he had a bed dream or to hold his hand in a dark cave. She needs a solid partner with a steady mind to rely on. Do it right or don't do it at all.

I know a lot of people think, Casavir in Obsidian's Neverwinter Nights 2 was boring. But I prefer a boring character to an Anomen Delryn anytime. I liked his "someone hat to do it, so why not me?" attitude about securing the streets. It was exactly the way my female paladine was thinking, too. Those really found each other. It was just a coincidence that I was playing her the same way, it was my first playthrough after all. But the moment I met him, I knew she'd fall for him quickly.

I know there are no romances in PoE, but I like my party members, because I don't have any annoying cry babies in it. They all carry their package, but they still laugh and help each other without complaining all the time. Just a bunch of friends on the road.

Although, I like to imagine that my fighter and Eder keep traveling together, so maybe some day they'll be more than just close friends. There's a certain chemistry there, but they don't know each other well enough yet, and have other things on their mind right now. Still, in a couple of years, they might realise it. Long after the curtain's fallen and I can't watch them anymore. Who knows? I really like that thought somehow. It's not in the game, but that's fine, becaust it will take years to grow. Sometimes love takes that much time, so there's no need to squeeze it in the game. I can still roleplay the foundation of that relationship to be by letting them get along very well. I don't need any clumsy ingame dialogue for that.

So, dear developers, if there are romances, make the guys normal. You really don't need to give them a traumatizing past. If you want to make them interesting, look at Tyrion Lannister or Geralt von Riva. Those are strong characters with edges, who don't cry their tragedy and self-pity in my face every five minutes. They're characters I can work with in my roleplaying, and that's all I want.

I see that people who write those hateful comments always refer to refugees in general. That includes women, children and family men, who actually respect our laws instead of committing crimes. But that generalization makes less smart people think that refugees in general are the problem. Drive them all out or kill them all, and we can be save again.

The problem is, that our government isn't able to put our laws through. Punish the people who break those laws, and every innocent person can be happy. But that doesn't happen. Because our government, and there's the irony, is afraid to be called racist again, if they're too rough to the refugees and other immigrants. Rather let them get away with nearly everything, so other countries can't blame us for abusing foreingers. That's where the hate comes from. Yes, our government is very sensitive when it comes to dealing with immigrant criminals. It's always been like that. The problem has only worsened with all these refugees around. People are tired of that attitude. But instead of concentrating their hate on the culprit, the government, many turn against the refugees. Including the innocent ones. And that's what I don't like at all.

Very reasonable sentiment. Sadly, I can only see all of this going in a very bad direction. How bad it will be depends on how long this gets stretched out. Solutions that come sooner will be more pleasant than those that come later.

Then we better expect the worst.

Sympathies for the current situation in Germany.  Do you think that the German people will still vote for Angela Merkel?.

Edit: When I say the German people I mean all those that have all been residents of Germany prior to the migrant crisis and recent movement of people.

Some will vote for Merkel's CDU, others will vote for the AfD, which is even worse. Because those are the real racists and will do terrible things if they get enough power. We have more parties, though. I'm still trying to figure out the best alternative, but I don't have much hope for now. If only somebody stepped up with a reasonable plan. But that's unlikely. There are way too many cooks to spoil the soup, so the reasonable people don't get enough attention.

  7. *Sigh* I feel like I should say something about that escaped terrorist, but I'm still not done facepalming about our authorities' incompetence in this matter. I'm not sure if I should be really mad or just cry in desperation.
