Its just a janky idea of mine and not really optimal but i like bow wielding Shrine Priestesses. Race: Wood Elf Background: Deadfire Archipelago (skill boost is personal choice) Min/maxed MIG: 18 CON: 9 DEX: 20 PER: 10 INT: 18 RES: 3 Min maxed for a pure dps focus. Balanced MIG: 16 CON: 7 or 9 DEX: 18 PER: 14 or 10 INT: 16 RES: 7 or 9 for more Per or if one doesn't like dropping Con/Res too much ( dex and int values can be swapped if longer buff duration is preferred) Talents: Interdiction Painful Interdiction Weapon Focus Adventurer Marksman Pray on the Weak Apprentice's Sneak attack Outlanders Frenzy Scion of flame The order in which you take these is quite flexible and depends on what you need the most in your party. Outlanders frenzy can be swapped for something else (like inspiring radiance) if more support is preffered, or if you dont mind giving most of your DAoM potions to the priest but i like it for Trashfights since its per encounter. Weapon : Rain of Godagh Field almost gets you to 0 recovery (1 frame in robes 4 in padded) with just Outlanders frenzy. Sabra Marie/Cloudpiercer/Borresaine are good alternatives if you're ok with DAoM potion addiction or if one preferres their effects . Lenas Er / Persistence + Weapon Focus Peasent are also great if you would rather use a Hunting Bow Only unique i consider optimal would be Angios Gambeson if one uses Sabra Marie/Cloudpiercer/Borresaine to make the Potions last longer by getting 1 free cast per rest. My thoughts were that woodelf + Marksman make up the lost accuracy from the Deity talent and the sneak attacks would let you stack some decent dmg while staying safe in the back, the lack of Pen. Shots doesnt matter as you can just use Spells if you encounter High Dr/Immune enemies or focus on supporting your other party members so you will never be useless. What do you think?

I plan on doing: Mc: Cipher using bows, focusing on dps but can help out with cc/debuffs if needed. Aloth: Main CC user with decent ranged damage thanks to the blast talents. Durance: Buffer/Caster, gave him a staff so he can poke from behind the front lines while still being able to intercept enemies going for Aloth/MC. Eder: 2h dps with Tidefall, using regens & some spellholding items. Hiravias: Dual wielding sabers ( no spiritshift) and loaded with spellholding items to stay alive and support the front along with his self centered aoe spells. Pallegina:I really want to play her as a 2h support pally with the BotP & Spectacular Spetum where she throws out buffs/Marks for her allies/deals damage herself, would use up whatever leftover spellholding items are left. I know that changing Pallegina to a SnB support tank with Outworn buckler/little saviour and a 1h marking weapon would most likely be better and easier to manage but i find pure tanks boring so i would like to know if i can get away with this by just stacking DR on my frontlines and buffs/cc?

it just seems that way because fighter is mostly all about passives (armored grace, weapon specilization, weapon mastery, Unbroken etc) he has no exciting abilities but hes by no means inferior, while tank fighter might be meh now dps fighter is hillarious im currently playing a dual wield fire godlike fighter in Potd (dump int max str/dex/per everything else 10) and he can still easily offtank stuff sure he doesnt do as much dmg as a rogue but he also doesnt die in 2 hits like the rogue and i found double hatchet offset + godlike dr below 50% pretty effective at keeping him alive. Fighter just SEEMS weak and lame because they are so boring

Penetrating Shot and Vicious Aim can be used at the same time...though I guess you could count Vicious Aim as a Ranger Modal and Penetrating Shot as a Universal Modal? I agree with the above entirely. I've also heard that it doesn't work with Driving Flight. Can anyone confirm this? I'm abit disappoint. If it doesn't work with Driving Flight, and can't be used with Vicious Aim or Swift Aim (and incidentally makes the latter redundant as it has a similar accuracy penalty, and greater damage output), it's overall usefulness seems...limited? At the very least it's saying "When you get to x level you MUST respec or have a dormant, wasted talent". just tested it and it works with both driving flight and penetrating shot as for its usefulness its better as it doubles your chance to stun with stunning shots and on-hit effects and for earlier its actually worth taking pet talents now since pretty good and will outdmg vicious aim any day at least thats my experience with the pets on my current Potd playthorugh (swift aim was never good with bows)

even at 3 int constant recovery still lasts 58 seconds and most battles dont last that long in anything that isnt Potd and there you will be tossing out more Aoe heals anyway since engagement doesnt 100% lockdown anymore so yeah its a nerf but its still perfectly fine to dump int ( if you really wanted a frontliner which poops green healing numbers you would go paladin anyway buffed lay on hands are ridicioulous)

So i did some more tests with the pets and looks like the bear was stealth nerfed to only get 2 bonus Dr instead of 3 endurance & DR at lv 14 Including the bonus from resilient companion Bears 212 endurance 26 Dr Boars 250 endurance 24 Dr Lions 221 endurance 24 Dr Antelope 192 endurance 24 Dr Wolf 192 endurance 24 Dr Stag 192 endurance 24 Dr Boars: are the best tank pet now it takes 20 hits for the bears passive Dr to overcome the extra endurance and boars having a high res make it pull ahead not to mention once they drop to 50% they do some pretty good dmg too thanks to to their passive and decent attackspeed. Lions: kinda got shifted into a tank pet. Sustain wise theyre inferior to boars and bears but they do have a decent 10 seconds aoe fear, they could be useful in a team that has little CC or a weak early game where the fear could be very useful. Bears: pretty much the same as before Stag: imo the worst of the dps pets his stats are not that great and while his carnage ability does last a decent amount of time, his poor Int guts the range and makes it pretty bad (2.1m) and the dmg on it is really low too not to mention it has -10 accuracy and he allready has the worst accuracy out of the dps pets Antelope: the tankiest of the dps pets thanks to his +7 defenses it also has the fastest attackspeed making it a solid choice Wolf : according to what other say wolves got a higher base dmg ( i didnt take enough samples to confim) and they get +12 defense against disengage attacks which is allright. so overall it seems Boar is the best if you want a sturdy/tank pet and wolf and antelope are about equal for dps pets ( even if wolf has a slightly higher base dmg antelope has slightly faster attackspeed so theyre about equal)- 26 replies

I did do some tests with the pets attackspeed wise its Antelope>Wolf>Deer>Boar=>Lion(forgot but lion for sure isnt faster)>Bear ( lion is super slow for a dps pet) wolves also got less endurance so even if they only take 3 more dmg a hit they cant take as many and that 3 per hit adds up fast but i mostly want to know if i can safely pick a dps pet now without it dying too much or if its still bear just so u dont need too worry about it too much ( this is for Potd for hard and lower it doesnt matter i think)- 26 replies
