Hi and sorry for the super late reply. I got a notification today(???) for your message, which is weird. I didn't get notified before so I missed it, sorry. 😔

  2. I made an account just to say this.... but thanks.

I've been lurking on this forum for years and you carried me through both Poe1 and 2. So yeah, thanks dude.

Hi, unfortunately I only got notified right now about your post from August 8th - sorry for the late response, don't know why it took so long for the forum software to notify me. 🤷‍♂️

Thank you very much for your kind words. You are very welcome. :)

  3. Hi! I've found your thoughts in the POE2 forums super helpful. I have a pretty specific question I haven't seen answered and was wondering if you had an idea of the answer.

Magran's spiritual weapon is a pistol and sword. When you attack with one or the other in turn-based mode, is it subject to the 35% dual wielding damage penalty since you're holding two weapons, or is that penalty only applied on full attacks such as double pistols or double swords?

    Thanks!

Hello! That malus is only applied to Full Attacks that get executed with two weapons. Auto and primary attacks don't get a malus - dual wielding or not. Most Full Attacks with pistol + sword will only use one of those weapons (depends whether you are in melee or ranged). So even as "official" Full Attacks they only roll one attack and thus should get no malus then (maybe test that though). There are some Full Attack abilities that do use both weapons no matter the range you are at (Heart of Fury, Whirling Strikes, Whispers of the Wind, Flagellants Path, Cleaving Stance, Riposte...) and those should indeed suffer the -35% malus. The others shouldn't.

  4. Hey Boeroer,

Hoping you can help me out.  I am trying to return to POE2 to complete the DLC but it has been quite a while since I have played.  In April you briefly describe two builds that I was hoping I could get more information on such as recommend attributes (non min max | POTD Difficulty).  Those were the Furyshaper/Beguiler and the Soulblade/Trickster ( I know to max Resolve but what were the other priorities?).  Can you help me with a little more info in regards to attributes or require skills.  I apologize if this was placed elsewhere but I do appreciate any help you can provide.

I hope you have a great New Years!

    Regards

Hm... what could a Furyshaper/Beguiler look like in PoE?

      Base I guess:
      a) Barbarian with Enigma's Charm/Spirit Spiral/Munacra Arret/Ring of Changing Heart or
      b) Cipher with Outlander's Fury/Sanguine Plate

As weapon I would choose Morning Star - just because in Deadfire I would also go with that (Willbreaker). First you can buy Crate's Remorse early from Vincent Dwellier in the Salty Mast (it's just an exceptional morning star but still good that early) and later fetch the Rose of Salthollow from Cliaban Rilag. It's a good weapon for a Barb because of the draining (which works with Carnage).

So I guess I would pick the Barbarian and use Enigma's Charm etc.
What would be really nice later in the game is to get the Executioner's Hood: it stacks with Threatening Presence (I hope) which would give you like two offensive auras: the first sickens enemies and the second one frightens which are cool passive debuffs to have which fit the theme (watch out for enemy ciphers with Psychic Backlash though!). Barbaric Yell/Shout would also be nice.

      Hi,

for both of them you want fairly high INT. You don't need a lot of MIG but PER and DEX shouldn't be too low. Mediocre CON might be sufficient but it depends a bit opn your party setup (healer i party etc.). The Soulblade/Trickster indeed needs good or even max RES because in order to trigger Offensive Parry/Riposte often every point of deflection counts and makes him better. For the Furyshaper/Beguiler RES doesn't matter that much so you'd have more points to put into other attributes.

      Something roughly like:

      Soulblade/Trickster:
      MIG: 10
      CON: 08
      DEX: 13
      PER: 13
      INT: 16
      RES: 18

      Furyshaper/Beguiler
      MIG: 10
      CON: 10
      DEX: 16
      PER: 16
      INT: 18
      RES: 08

But you can also put more points into CON and take away from DEX/PER and so on. As long as you don't cripple the essential attributes like INT and RES (in case of Soulblade/Trickster) it will work.

The Furyshaper/Beguiler (or Witch) has some nice synergies but mostly it's a thematic build for me with the White Witch Mask and all that. It's all about RES and INT afflictions like Shaken, Frighten, Terrify, Charm, Dominate and so on (while being able to deal ok melee dmg, too). This one works really well if you have a Wizard in the party who casts Misama of Dull-Mindedness - because it reduces Will so much that the Fear Ward of the Furyshaper will hit most of times which makes most encounters trivial because Terrify is so strong. It's good to use the Barbaric Shout - not only because in combination with Spirit Frenzy it will not only cause Shaken (-5 RES --> -10 Will) and Staggerat the same time but alsobecause you'll get +3 engagement which allows to hit all the terrified (Fear Ward) enemies with Disengagement Attacks, which leads to a lot of additional focus gain (and dmg).

  6. Yo, I'm back! Spread the word 😆

I was away for a long time for personal reasons. I haven't even played Deadfire yet!
I am sorry to read it didn't sell well.

Good to see old familiar faces here, your blue Orlan face among them 😉
I hope our Black Isle Bastards were well received!

Hi Fluffle! Wait: you did all the work with the BIBs and then you didn't even play Deadfire? What a shame! Do it! :)

Our BIB weapon was well received at least. The BIBs themselves play a rather small role and our efforts can easily be missed if you don't know what to look for. But that's ok. Funny that the more expensive part of our forum collaboration gets rather unnoticed while the cheaper one (the weapon) is quite popular. It is a very good weapon so no surprise I guess.

By the way I think I now know who the secret donor was. ;)
