    edit: i see you u se the proprietary driver. Be sure the driver Nouveau is unactivated (it can be difficult to unactivate it).

    Hey, I had the same problem (with a Nvidia graphic card). It came from the fact that the graphic driver Nouveau is used by default. I solved it by installing the Nvidia proprietary driver. Hope this help
