  1. I don't know if people (sexes) should be treated equal. We are different after all, even in our psychological make up. Equal opportunity, same salaries for same jobs etc. however is a completely different matter which I think nobody in their right mind can argue against. A generation of young screwed up men is growing up, having had their competitive urges suffocated during young ages by kindergarten pedagogues (sp?) who treats the kids euqally and demands that the boys suppress their nature (and pretty much expect them to behave like girls, i.e. play nicely, no fist fights etc.). Only now is the damaging effects on the psyche of male kids really showing. So tell society that they can go sit on a cactus, there is a difference " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmm...I think that the discouragement of competitive urges is done to both genders across the board. (I can't remember anyone encouraging me to be competitive, but I've been told to act more like a lady who knows how many times!) A man who acts competitive is considered to be at least acting in his nature (though modern society expects him to actively defy it). But ugh, if you're female and act competitive or have interests in the more male-dominated jobs/disciplines...they think you're trying to be a man. And biologically, I agree with them. The media can support 'strong' women all it wants, and it's a nice idea but (in my experience) try it at work/school and see...It doesn't go over well. I personally don't carry a big chip on my shoulder about it, but a lot of women do and I don't think they help the situation any. Saying "I want you to make an effort to treat me equally" implies that you weren't equal to begin with. So as said above, big difference between treatment and opportunity. One is earned, the other is given. I don't have kids and have no idea what goes on in kindergarten, but I know that school in general has a huge focus on 'cooperation' much more so than in the past. Having been both in school and in the corporate workforce, I can say that cooperation is a nice ideal but indeed, preparing kids for work without preparing them for conflict is doing more harm than good. It makes me laugh when they force us to do it...in biology class
  2. yup, graphics were pretty much the same. And actually, I think the environments were better in K1 than K2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But they must have improved them...they ran slower!
  3. Heh...and I've mauled some poor guy's thread trying to figure out how a person might see it. I'll leave it be
  4. One quick guilt-free round of JE before school starts and games become something I shouldn't be doing :D
  5. Hmm, that setting seemed to make the computer gods very angry with what I'm playing right now, but I'll try it when I play K2 again - thanks! Hah, yes, I was amused when upgrading my video drivers suddenly gave my character the power of force sight. If it was documented I totally missed it, so I just thought that my caps lock key was making my computer go nuts.
  6. Again I agree, just to me that doesn't fit with the jedi-superhero image the original post was criticizing. There's fault on all sides, and I think K2 elaborates on that rather than ignoring it. I am very bad at explaining though - I should not try but I am always compelled to defend Revan's story since it is my favorite in both games.
  7. Wild Storm, I could be wrong but I think I remember that caps lock = force sight as well free look after you get it? That can cause really weird graphics glitches for some people.
  8. My problem there is that aside from being on the box, their significant amount of influence behind the story's events just makes the lack of real 'presence' in the game that much more awkward.
  9. I definitely see your points, but I still think there's some self-righteous arrogance involved in someone of a relatively young age and (as far as I know) little experience in world-saving taking on such a decision - even if it was necessary and correct to do so. Excuses/guilt/redemption/K3 were brought up a little ways back; I think some degree of guilt is inevitable because of that.
  10. For me the gamma is screwed unless the game is running in Windowed mode...does it change every time you alt+ tab if you're in full screen? My screenshots worked if I changed to Windowed...no idea if that will help you though.
  11. It also makes me question how even if Revan had completely pure intentions initially (whether they stayed that way or not), he still defied the Jedi Council's orders to accomplish them. No matter what the intent, that kind of arrogance goes against what I think of as burying the needle on the top of the LS scale Again tyranny can come from either side - which has been discussed already as far as it relates to the context of the story - but such direct disobedience being justified totally by intent? Just doesn't fit for me...which is why I am glad we get to choose the DS ending in K2. No matter - like you said, he's got a lot to answer for if he feels like it.
  12. for Massive Attack...my growly self is listening to Unearth - Endless right now though.
  13. Ohhh will have to try that sometime...thanks!
  14. I hope you don't keep that a secret forever
  15. If you're ok with using the codes, I'm pretty sure that's on pcgamemods.com. Very easy to sort through their stuff and find
