Birth rates =/= sex. Plenty of people in first world countries have sex. We still have low birth rates to the point of being propped up by immigrants. But Japan probably has a bunch of factors contributing. That said, you got me curious on what the actual rape rate was in Japan, because it seems like they have a higher acceptance of rape in their media than we American do. Interestingly enough, the rape rate in Japan is 1 per every 100K people, while in the US, it's 27.3 for every 100K people. So despite having much more rape portrayed in their media, Japan has 27 times less rapes than the US does. Strike one against rape culture theory I guess lol. The Japanese are probably not raping so much because they are inside fapping to porn. Kinda like how violent videogames keep people inside, preventing them from committing violent actions outside. I havent actually played rapelay, but if it gives people with strange fetishes an outlet and keeps them indoors, I dont have a problem with it.

Devs need to follow Daniel Vavra's example and just refuse to change anything. They've given up on him and his game. I mean I'm sure they'll give him hell again when the game gets released, but it'll blow over. I think the best devs to follow would be these guys, mainly Kamiya (I could post several images showing why I love this guy). George Kamitani is fine too. Japanese games are horrible... Some are, some arent. If you think they are as a whole, you either have horrible taste or bad luck picking them out.

When the game is an interactive 2 hour long text only book like Depression Quest? Please dont insult visual novels. I have read some which had pretty good quality, better than DQ anyway.

I find the term "basement-dwellers" offensive. I dont have a basement. Obsidian please remove this disgusting attack on harmless, subterranean denizens. They shouldnt be attacked for their alternate, sun fearing lifestyle.

Imo, Obs has the right to add or subtract anything they feel is in their best business interests. The "offending" memorial should have been addressed when it was submitted, not down the road when everyone craps themselves. Catering to a disturbed person on twitter who probably hasn't played the game over the people who actually funded the game is totally in their long term business interests. I wonder what content will be deemed problematic for the next patch. Kill all Elves!

I still havent redeemed my steam key (I was waiting until I finished building a better PC). I wonder if I could get a refund. Probably not, but I wont be buying Obsidian games in the future, atleast I wont buy them new. 3 Issues 1) You guys ****ed up. You allowed the content then removed it. You either shouldnt have put it in to begin with, or kept it. 2) You caved because of a few thin skinned people on twitter (I wonder how many acually backed you), on a matter that is subjective (being offended). Can you also kill all elves because my headmate Pelinal Whitestrake finds them offensive? 3) This guy you screwed over, paid for that reward. Did you atleast give him a refund, because this being done quietly makes me think you didnt. Enjoy your thin skinned fans Obsidian. Lets hope they actually support you enough to buy your games when they arent whining on twitter.
