  1. It's things like this that make you realise why some people become passionate activists for social justice, no matter the significance of what their efforts may be.

In this light I don't really understand the degree of enmity I see towards those labelled 'SJW's ((I am loathe to use this term myself, preferring to consider people's actions & arguments case by case and respond to those), however this could be because I don't pay much attention to Internet drama. The activists I know in real life don't try to change the world using twitter. After all, surely we can all agree that social justice is a good thing in itself, even if we disagree on exactly what that looks like. Likewise, surely we can sympathise with people like Erika being offended by the poem, even if we might see it as over-sensitive in this case and may take issue with the manner of some people's advocacy.

Sometimes I wonder if it's the Internet that does weird things to people or if people were always this way. A bit of both probably.

I personally didn't find Firedorn's poem outrageously offensive or worth bothering about. It was just 'a bit wrong or naughty' like some jokes tend to be. I did find it crass and unfunny though. It made me wonder why of all the things in the world you could leave on your memorial stone, why some silly poem. Even though I was eligible to leave something on a stone for all to see, I chose not to for fear of polluting the atmosphere of the game world with something out of context and inappropriate.

Thank you Mungri for your posts. The first was hilarious, the second profound. No matter how things may be for you now with your family, I feel for you *virtual hug if you want one*  ;)

Overall I liked your post. I just have to note that all activists use social media. They'd be idiots not to. The notion that the internet is somehow distinct from all other aspects of our lives and doesn't really matter is absurd. It is without contest the best way to reach a large audience.

Optional super powerful baddies are always great fun!

I remember that time I stumbled into the pitch black doorway in the bridge district. Good times! :)

More seriously: That encounter can be beaten, but it requires you to actually understand the game mechanics. E.g. have you figured out what its lowest defense is?

OMG the first time I oopsied into that part of the bridge district and also Kangraax ... Amazing party wipes.

Yup. You could also go visit Firkraag first thing. ^^

So many baddies that would insta-wipe you unless you were prepared. :)

EDIT: And even then some would still be like lolnope and eat your frontline... and then your backline. ^^

Yes, I am so very butthurt because Obs did exactly what I wanted them to do... Wait, what?

This has gone beyond ridiculous, but keep making those asinine assumptions. It's very entertaining.

What it boils down to guys, is Serdan is mad straight guys won't bang him. :(

Your ineffectual attempts at mockery amuse me. Keep it up. :)

And your selective crusading amuses me. Serdans panties get knotted up over a harmless backer limerick, while kids are starving and dying of sickness. Because what really matters is that straight men find gay men who identify as female attractive. Not.

Yes yes. Dear muslima and all that.

Keep going, I've almost got my bingo card filled out. :)

Nah I made my point. You continue to look petty and foolish, and you do nothing for the LGBT cause except make their members look petty and foolish. Thank you, and good night.

Your point being that I'm a mad gay man who is butthurt because Obs removed a limerick that was offensive to trans* people which I somehow turned into a crusade instead of helping sick children?

Very good point! I'll have to remember that. :)

EDIT: You can do better than that though. Throw in some misogyny too!

  6. If you engage one enemy with two companions, and then move one of your companions, does he suffer diseng. attack? If so, that is just stupid, and should be changed. This would create a nice tactical addition.

Depends on the engagement limit of that enemy. The same is true of your own peeps.

EDIT: You can move a companion away if the enemy has the Flanked debuff. I'll have to test it to see exactly how this works, but it's something to keep in mind.

  7. You're a massive BIGOT. You're a disgusting fiend that's spewing hate. It's dripping from your being, and we all see it. It's what you feed off of, and it's what's occurring now. You have no respect for my views and you slander me based on who I truely am. **** you, I've got no more use for conversation with the likes of you.

I don't hate homosexuals, or blacks or browns or anyone based on COLOR, CREED, RACE, RELIGION. I love people based on their actions and their realities. And yes, I will look down on people based on their disgusting, destructive behavior. But I'm a lover, I'm a sinner, I'm a fighter. But I'll be God Damned is some bitch off the internets is gonna call me a "bigot". I'm the first son of a bitch you want in your corner. I love everyone, and you can kiss my ass. Gays are welcome! I don't care.

I'm sorry for calling you a bigot.

Referring to homosexuals, or intimacy between homosexuals, as unnatural perpetuates bigotry (which does not necessarily mean that the one doing it is a bigot).

If you feel so strongly about it maybe... you should not do that.

I don't know where you live, but you are likely aware that homosexuals are persecuted in many parts of the world. In some nations they are in danger of being executed, simply for being who they are. Those who advocate for the marginalisation and murder of homosexuals use the same kind of language as you. Do you see the problem? Do you understand why someone might react strongly to that?

Update your Tumblr with how my post made you feel please.  The end-effect is the same as your posting here.  Someone triggering your bigot-radar means nil if it just boils down to fueling a ridiculous internet debate that shouldnt have been given form in the first place.

    So you're just trolling. Gotcha.

  8. Ok, please feel free.  But did you ever consider there are avenues to go about this task that arent internet forums for kickstarter driven RPGs?

Some of them may actually yield a tangible effect on society.

Or you could keep on truckin' on a kickstarter driven RPG forum.  Its like training-wheels for social activists, I guess?

Take your patronising bs and shove it.

If the bigots hadn't shown up in force I would never have touched any social issues, but I guess you think bigotry should pass without remark.

  9.

And with the defense of pedophilia you just crossed the line of no longer being worth my time.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedophilia

"Pedophilia or paedophilia is a psychiatric disorder"

Paedophiles are not at fault for their condition and deserve to be treated fairly. As a group they are at very high risk of suicide due to their difficulty with having a functional sex-life and in extreme cases it is an outright impossibility. On top of that they are vilified by society as a whole. Whatever his morals, Darji is completely right when he points out that many otherwise progressive people will fail on this issue.

To be clear: You will never see me defend child-abusers. If you are unable to distinguish between the condition of being attracted to children and the act of abusing children (something that does not require you to be a paedophile) then that is your problem, not mine.

I will defend and show compassion for any who suffer through no fault of their own, whatever the cause of that suffering, and let the condemnations of ignorant fools be damned.

  10. Wow. You're part of the problem. I didn't hurt anyone, all I said is two men having sex is not what nature intended, seeing as how that does not reproduce. I guess we all need a little biology refresher.

A man's **** is inserted in a woman's vagina (which feels great by the way) and then he will ejaculate **** filled with sperm to fertilize her eggs up in the ovaries. This will then begin the process of growning a fetus to reproduce the spieces.

One man, and one woman are required. And it's awesome and beautiful. Two men... Doing whatever, will not result in reproduction, and I find it very unnattactive and unpleasant. Wich is my right. But as stated above, I could care less. I don't tell people what to do with their junk.

    • I'm not the one perpetuating bigotry.
    • Nature has intentions now? Did nature intent for humans to use the internet? You'd better go live in a cave or on a deserted island, if nature's intentions mean so much to you.
    • So you never use protection and you don't want your partner to use birth control? Lovely.

Yeah, communism. You're trying to force me or shame me because of my personal views. It's soft liberal, progressive type of communism, but yeah, not cool.

You should probably just shut up. Just Sayin' ; ) you're gettin on my nerves.

I find the bull**** coming out of your mouth offensive. My feelings are hurt!

You are trying to force me to shut up! Fascist! :o

But seriously, does your ignorance know no bounds?

  11. Calling something that's unnatural, unnatural.... I don't get it. I honestly don't care, I don't have a problem with gays. They can do whatever they want, it's not anyone's place to stop that. But you can't create a separate reality and then just tell people they're wrong if they say this or that and label them as a "bigot".

It is not unnatural in any sense of the word.

So I'm going to go with fanatical liberal propaganda on your part, immediately calling me a bigot. Some people (heh, well most) find it disgusting. But there are a lot of things in this world that can be viewed the same way. It's how you handle it in the real world. And well... It's not my place to tell or force anyone to think or act a certain way unless they're going to cause harm to me, my family, or my countrymen. And gays are none of that. So gay it all up! Who cares.

A lot of people care. People who call homosexuals unnatural and actively try to abridge the rights of homosexuals. Are you going to acknowledge this?

Just because y'all are "offended" or your "feelings" are hurt doesn't mean you get to shut people down and label them as something they aren't. That's communism. Just sayin.

    Communism? What?

  12. No, but I don't recall anyone being called unnatural; I recall an activity being called unnatural.

I was waiting for you to engage in such useless pedantry.

What you fail to comprehend is that this isn't just some academic discussion or a few people being "hypersensitive".

Real people are being harmed by bigotry, so when I see someone perpetuate such bigotry I will call them out on it. Your insistence that doing so is somehow wrong unless I can prove with absolute certainty that they actually engage in bigotry is utter bs. As I have already stated, my prior for Sriker being genuine can be found somewhere in the region of the asthenosphere. If Striker convinced me otherwise I would apologize, but I'm not holding my breath.

Could you give an example of someone who isn't a bigot and who refers to people as unnatural?

a lot of people on the social justice side do this with fetishes they do not tolerate. Like pedophilia. Something you can not do anything about it as well.  Its your sexual orientation and it should not be a crime unless people get hurt by it.  Thats the biggest example

If I see someone do that I'll call them a bigot too, so that's not much of a counterexample.

I read the thread that you linked to earlier and saw your reaction to people referring to Erika with the male pronoun and in this thread you are arguing that it's somehow reasonable to make an assumption that people are bigots if they use insensitive but nonhateful language. At best that is hypersensitivity and at worse it is simply using a label to group people whom you disagree with as "the lesser", which is would be actually rather ironic if you stop and think about it.

Do you think my reaction was unreasonable? If so, why?

According to my experience it is a very strong predictor of bigotry when someone refers to people as unnatural. Do you have any meaningful answers to this?

Yes I can actually, although for the most part their names wouldn't mean anything to you. Hells, until I see actual evidence of bigotry from the people using it here I'd also say that they probably qualify as well. Saying something is "unnatural" is simply an insensitive way of denoting that the speaker is uncomfortable with something and does not raise to the level of bigotry. Remember that tolerance is not the same as acceptance.

    How convenient.

Do you deny that calling homosexuals, or intimacy between homosexuals, unnatural is rhetoric used by people who are actively engaged in abridging the rights of homosexuals?
