  1. This might be a bit off-topic, but I am trying out a build that also include dual wielding on a Cipher, maybe not same stats as you suggested, but It's my first time playing as a Cipher and I was wondering, is there a way to learn Cipher spells like a Wizard can learn spells from a Grimoire type thing? I know I can pick a few spells when I level up, but I'm not entirely sure what to pick. Maybe someone could point out a few of the "must have" spells for me? I like the Cipher so far, very different from playing a Chanter, that's for sure.
  2. I must've done something horrible wrong. I killed the backer NPCs on the top of the Inn and nothing bad seemed to happen, but when I reached the temple of Eothas, I got assaulted by a child? He/She even survived a direct hit from my arbalest, so that's kinda impressive I guess.
  3. I might try out a second solo run on hard as a Druid, maybe you could give a few pointers or are you still using the same build as you posted on page 1? Fire Godlike seems obvious, I just hope they fixed the whole permanent DR thing. Biggest problem I see with solo Druid is gettin interrupted because of long spell casting and you have to rest a lot, resulting in a lot of backtracking?
  4. I can relate to that. Chanter was pretty smooth in the start (Solo on Hard) since you could just run away and summon the phantom and let him do the job. Hits hard, take damage like a boss and stun, plus he got sneak attacks. I am currently level 6 on mine and I feel like it's relative hard now, even using scrolls, food, potions and what not. Phantom dies fast, invocations take longer to charge up because I am using the level 2 chant that gives AoE -accuracy. Most awesome thing on Chanter is slowly creating a huge pile of corpses and then you pull future enemies over to your pile. White Worms Writhed in the Bellies of the dead works on the same corpses again and again so when you have like 10-20 corpses in one area and each explosion does 25ish damage = fun. I can't imagine what it's like playing a Priest on POTD solo, don't even think I wanna try to do anything solo on POTD yet. What about Barb? I read somewhere (might've been in this thread) that Fire Godlike with Barb could do some serious work, mostly because the Fire Godlike racial works with the Barb under 50% edurance damage buff talent, but I still can't imagine doing Temple of Eothas or the castle as a Barb.
  5. I tried to make a DPS Chanter and it's working pretty good so far on Hard mode. It's a Hearth Orlan, mainly because of their racial, where a normal hit can turn into a crit if you attack the same target as an ally. Maxed Might and Int, dropped his Perception as low as I could and put it into Dex for the faster action. He is using a Spear so he can stay behind the Fighter, but still provide support with his Chants. You could pick Dwarf and get up to 21 Might at the cost of Dex I guess. The reason why I didn't pick Dwarf is because I can't have my main character as one, I just can't. Thinking about it tho, maybe Orlan isn't the best choice for a DPS Chanter, but hey. Sure he doesn't have the splash as a Barb or the expertise of a Fighter, but he is a buffbot/caster afterall. I like it, even tho it's not min/maxed I guess, haven't played enough for that sort of thing. Stats: 18 Might 10 Con 17 Dex 5 Per 18 Int 10 Res If anybody have a better build/suggestion I am open for criticism. I am not a pro builder or anything like that and still new to the PoE system. I still think Tank Chanter is better to do, because their accuracy is only average, while their deflection is Very High.
  6. My Chanter had zero issues with this area even on hard, but when I tried it again on my Cipher, I just walked away and came back later. I don't see how you can handle the wolves as a Cipher, unless you are a bit lucky with the Rolls. The bear tho?, I don't think that is possible on any kind of build.
