  1. I think it was just fine length wise. Some people maybe burned through it much faster than others (I have heard of 23 hours from some people?) whereas others were more than 40. I took more than 70. Played lots of Pazaak, some Pod Racing. I didn't rush through it by any means but I don't think I really went too slowly either. Did my best to solve every quest and side quest though.

  2. Some of it is that the Dark Side corrupts. Perhaps with others it's that personal trauma pushed people already cradling between the light side and the dark side over the end completely. I suspect that's what Episode III will reveal about Anakin/Darth Vader.

  3. My take on why they are calling them all Darth is for similarities for somewhat casual Star Wars fans to the movies and games. People who aren't up on all the EU material probably aren't aware that they weren't always called Darth. I suspect it's because LucasArts/Obsidian are aiming the game for a mass market that they made some discrepancies like this from the EU material/canon. Since I never read much of the EU books for instance, I wouldn't know this (except from reading things online).

  4. I'm all for the game being more dark in the dark side but this may mean they will be rated as M rather than T. Some stores won't carry M or more mature rated games and it is restricting the buying audience. We'll see I guess. Currently, KOTOR2 is unrated from what I have read.

  5. When a Dark Side Jedi unleashes Force Lightning on a Light Sider, will a high level Light Sider be able to absorb the lightning and redirect it back to the Dark Side Jedi, similar to the fight between Yoda and Count Dooku in Episode 2? Perhaps a lower level version of that power would be the ability to protect yourself against Force Lightning using a light saber, like how Obi Wan did against Dooku.

  6. What made Torment great was the writing, not necessarily the setting.

Exactly. Ask whoever wrote the main storyline of PS:T what kind of story he/she wants to write, and let them do it, and design a game with that.

You know that some of the people at Obsidian worked on Planescape Torment? Chris Avellone, lead designer of KOTOR2, for instance was the lead designer of PST.

  7. They definately hyped it. The only way they didn't lie is if a completely different group worked on both games. That may true in some areas but they still had common designers like Gaider. Bottom line is they hyped it and said something that ended up not being true and disappointed a lot of gamers in the process and I am sure BioWare knew well ahead of time that it was very different in the single player OC

  8. Yes. Jolee tried to run that road, but failed, being simply a good Jedi who was good at faking it. In KOTOR, the worst thing for a character is to not choose and extreme. There should be a middle ground -- a "True Neutral" if you will.

As did Kyle Katarn in the Jedi Knight series of games but it's not canon, just as Jolee and KOTOR isn't. So Lucas can and will ignore it.

  9. There should be a range of choices between light side and dark side. Not all dark siders should be as evil as Vader or the Emperor. Not all light siders should be as good as Luke. Unfortunately, I see there being only two choices, light or dark, and whether it's male or female will just adjust the final end scenes slightly. :)
