  1. Sort of - he's fairly good at playing hyper music nerds.
  2. Yes - since then, I've installed Star Wars Racer, and Duke 3D-con-high-res pack. I am a massive, bloated nerd, and I ain't even talkin' concrete bod. Roadmap-eyes exude charm; reminiscing of trots through Adelaide's club scene sort of hints at a greater problem. You have failed your nerd duties. Shoo. Of course, Adelaide's an uncertainty - but I love the way it sounds.
  3. Happiness of the Katakuris - Um, yeah. Inserts - Dreyfuss and Harper make a good couple; Bob Hoskins is the man; decent, not great, not rubbish. Harlene: You really should clean your pool. Boy Wonder: Where would I piss? Narc - Effing intense; flawless direction, flawless writing, shades of grey upon shades of grey; Liotta's a treat. High Fidelity - Was there really a moment in time - after Cobain gulped it - when Nevermind was not maligned by hipster dorks, but actually embraced? Good film.
  4. I've heard that RZA produced track with GZA and Big Daddy Kane - good stuff, not enough to pump a guy up and cleanse him of all worries, but good, reassuring stuff. Guess, I'll look for it; to tell the truth - and be an honest, stand up guy - I didn't even know the show was out.

Saw Divine, Goon and Chungo, Lil' Turkey, R.I.P. Tyrone, 'member no cursin front of Ms. Vercey, Big Percy, Crazy Paul, the Sledge Sisters; I've been listening to Stillmatic, and while Nas knows how to spin a rhyme and weave a tale, he's got the most inconsistent taste in beats I've ever heard. Three great tracks (2nd Childhood, What Goes Around, One Mic), a couple decent ones (Ether, You're the Man, Every Ghetto), and a plethora of filler and strung-out garbage. And for all you cheap bastards, Kweli and Madlib have released a free LP entitled Liberation, I've yet to listen to it as there's no hurry and I often tire of Talib's blather, but it looks like he's still sticking it to the man, i.e. the US Government - way to go, Equality. Madlib's the man, though, and here's . As for me: Where the white women at? - Shlomo's got 'em (Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Patty Griffin, Gillian Welch, and Patty Loveless to be exact and crispy clear).

There's nothing odd about Andrew Ridgeley... look, there's girls! Odetta - John Henry.
  7. Ghosts of Mars - Henstridge's part was far too hefty, and she only shows the goods near the end; Ice Cube... I like how his recent films are almost as gut-wrenching embarrassing as his albums (of the same period, at least); Statham's reliable, Pam Grier a waste. The score made me laugh. Sort of watchable, but only if you've got company, male preferably. Ultraviolet - The British show; not making it a huge gothy mess aimed at teens was a good choice; Idris Elba should've played James Bond. Spaced - I like how they're all irredeemable failures with failed lives and (ever-?)failing friends. Fever Pitch - The British, Hornby-scripted film; in all probability, I'll never watch it again, but I'd be lying if I said I hated it; Firth was okay, the girl easy on the eyes; one of these days I'll sit by the telly and watch High Fidelity. La Plan

Goddamn, was Mos Def a beast in 1999; Pharoahe, Em, and Company Flow rock it well; this has to be the nerdiest hip-hop video I've ever seen, almost as absurd as that Wu joint where Ghost and RZA go emo and Isaac Hayes plays Father Time.. uh, social critique.
  9. Tais-toi! - I've seen worse. Fritz The Cat - Crumb hated it, of course; it ain't half bad: Why does a great actor like James Earl Jones always have to play black men? Watership Down - Very nice; still, it somehow reminded me of: Oh, and Drabs, The Descent is about a bunch of vulvae who get stuck in a cave. Hilarity ensues.

Way to go, good job, I guess. (Unless you and wifey needed the money for, like, bills and stuff. Which would probably suck. I mean, you don't want Mike Watt drinking himself into a shallow, hollow grave because of your divorce... surely.) John Cale - Hallelujah.
  11. I, for one, prefer to see it as "saving you the trouble, grief, and assorted diddly-gothness".

But more essentially... have you listened to Double Nickels On The Dime yet? The Sonics - Have Love Will Travel.

When I was young, 10 or 11, I misunderstood the chorus and, subsequently, had them pegged as racists for years. Thankfully the internet has since kicked knowledge in my general direction. Such is life. Minutemen - Don't Look Now. ... see what I just did? Screamin' Jay Hawkins - he was the man in Mystery Train.

That's the band that aped Staley as a tribute?
  15. I was chatting with Darth Launch (some time ago) - she feared both pouts and hawkish poses were out of Kate's range.... or was it walking and looking pretty at the same time? I forget.

Yeah - but the knowledge, the comprehension that you've consciously listened to a (double!) RHCP LP is gonna kick in soon, and you'll be shoaling in self-pity and general "eekiness". So it's not exactly a breezy situation - know what I mean... how long can the euphoria last, hombre? Brother Ali - Room With A View. (Someone should punch Slug in the neck; I want more Ali|Ant.)

Dude, it's called "stop" - big square thing. There was a tall, thin boy with a whispy moustache disguised as an orthodox Jew On a crowded bus in Jerusalem, Some had survived World War Two, And the thunderous explosion blew out windows 200 yards away, With more retribution and seventeen dead Along the road to peace. - Tom Waits, Road To Peace. Shorty's laugh was cold blooded as he spoke so foul, Only twelve, trying to tell me that he liked my style, Then I rose, wiping the blunts ash from my clothes, Then froze only the blow the herb smoke through my nose, And told my little man that I'm a go cyprose. - Nas, One Love. Odetta - .
  18. Yes. And Kirikou et la sorci
  19. Wait what - oh yeah, Souza. Underworld - You know how some reviewers decline typing a word out of sheer disgust and just lace their articles with photos of people puking? Yeah. Scary Movie 3 - I liked when half the Wu showed up; everything else - not so much. Idiocracy - Not bad. Dysgenics is a first for Sci-Fi comedies - I believe.
  20. It's a children's book - sort of.
  21. You should have just gotten The Wolves in The Walls, and maybe American Gods.
  22. Well, he's no longer impotent, if that's what you're asking.
  23. Mind Game - The animated equivalent of a bloke who's desperately trying to be witty and insightful at an after-hours get-together, while everyone notices how much of a failure he is at interacting with normally developed human beings, yet keeps quiet as not to offend. La Vieille dame et les pigeons - Fantastic. Les Triplettes de Belleville - Almost better; Chomet's a master of his trade. I love how little need he has for language. The Hospital - Paddy Chayefsky + George C. Scott =
