  1. Ok I just ran the whole thing again. There is no one down here gaurding the door. My save was from the beginning of the level. I am now standing outside rthe door that allows me to don the hood. For some reason now I have a 4th entry. Bizzare. Thanks for you help.
  2. That must be the issue. I killed them outside. I am going to go back to an earlier save and try not killing them. It weird it lets me in the room and they ask me my name. BUt all choices end in an attack. I talked to the guy who you rehearse the script with as well.
  3. Good call. Thanks! But once I get in there are only three choices. Each end with the same result. "Imposter!" and me getting killed.
  4. So I am outside the door leading into the room with the chanters in the Temple of Woedica. You can sneak in if you wear the mask according to the ghost. So you are tasked to find the mask by said old ghost. I have the mask but it appears that the entrance is a scripted event where it asks you if you want to go in alone or with the party. This conversation only occurs with your main. Doesn't matter who is selected, it defaults to your main. I tried putting the hood on another character and it defaults to you main as I stated. Well the problem with this is my main is a Godlike who cannot wear a hood/helmet. He always spots you as an intruder if you enter with it just in your inventory. So I am assuming it is not possible for me to complete the quest in its intended fashion because my main is a Godlike? Am I missing something? I just want to answer his questions and proceed with the game without fighting that battle.
  5. That would mean every pc gamer who grew up in the 80's and 90's. Me think you overstate your position a touch. There are more 30 and 40 something gamers out there than you think. We all grew up with these games. Call it nostalgia-fetish all you like. What it boils down to is a cross-section of the gaming population that can afford to make the games that they grew up with thanks to crowdfunding. We all have incomes, so anything you make like this is going to get made and become a beloved title as long as it is done to standards that the originals were made. Some people pledged thousands of dollars of their own money to get a toon in the game. Where else does that type of thing happen?
  6. How about a realistic inventory engine that allows you to carry what a real human would carry? I don't care what your encumbrance is, you would never be able to haul around 6 two-handed swords and be expected to fight. I have yet to see an inventory that makes any sort of logical sense. Maybe a bag of holding helps the argument out, but I can't think of a game to date other than Dark Souls that makes sense out of an inventory system. I understand this is not the most fun not being able to carry everything you find, but it would certainly up the realism factor.
  7. I would find a vendor and get a copy of hooked on grammar. That is what I well do on my first play threw.
  8. You obviously played a different BG that I did. These game aren't soap operas, they are RPG's. By your definition any RPG with dragons and swords is a dungeon crawler. Sorry have disagree in a BIG way.
  9. It is not a dungeon crawler. Sure it is. I never would have called Baldur Gate a dungeon crawler. Dungeon Siege maybe. This appears to be more BG that DS. We will see. If you define a dungeon crawler by going to a dungeon, then yes you might be right. But judging from the beta, it is way more than that. Dungeon crawlers usually aren't defined by a story (if so it is usually weak).
  10. If combat provided absolutely nothing and only wasted time and resources, then it would be easy to argue that combat should be avoided if possible (unless you just wanted to fight because you find fighting fun). That said, PoE combat provides items and crafting ingredients. There is clearly some incentive to fight, even if that incentive is not XP. From this perspective, combat should be avoided unless it provides a net increase in player resources (or is unavoidable). A bit like real life. LOL! So for once I agree about a game decision. I think it is very intriguiging to not give xp for combat. It makes you rethink many of your choices that would otherwise be standard in a game of this type. It is a fresh perspective and I support it.
  11. I have played aplhas and betas as well and to say that this is a normal beta is just not true. This is way more alpha than beta. How did they graduate it to beta knowing the crazy issues it has in it's present sate? Having quests disappear and inventory disappear are game breaking issues. Quests and inventory are the crux of the game. Without them we have animated figures running around in pretty environments. Call me crazy but one would think they would have at least made the game playable somewhat before lauching such a large beta. Fix those two issues and I will report bugs all day with a smile on my face. I can't report bugs if the game doesn't work. Why would I do that to myself? I need some incentive to move forward and if I don't have any quests due to them disappearing there isn't really a whole lot of reason to continue. So those peope saying they should have waited a few weeks are spot on. I am not going to let my fanboy hopes of this game doing well get in the way of some glaring problems that scream for someones attention.
