  1. I am continually impressed at how many people think that griping at Obsidian is going to help the people who play their games.  I'm sure that reading lots of posts about how much 'Obsidian sucks' really inspires them to go out and do a great job on KOTOR 3 or the patch or whatever they're working on in the KOTOR Universe now.

It's a good thing I'm not a moderator.  'Nuff Said.

Don't worry about it they don't even read this junk. Thank god for that I guess, but don't spread it around too much, if too many people hear about this they'll stop ranting at brick walls and we'll loose the comical value of the crap they spew.

  2. I don't have an Xbox so I'm not clear on how it all works out, but since it's a console, I doubt they patch games at all on that. Please believe me when I say that if they don't patch the xbox version's story, you can be quite certain they're never gonna touch the PC one. Who's gonna pay or take the time to develop a patch to tweak the ending ? LA ? :p:(:lol: Obsidian ? maybe they give more of a damn, but they can't spare the ressources, I'm pretty sure LA told em that the file was closed on Kotor2.

  3. Kotor had a good story, but there was nothing subtle about it, the head honcho gets brainwashed and becomes a hero, sure some of us were awed with wonder when they discovered what was really going on.

The sequel's story though was very intriguing, a concept you never heard of or thought of, and when you learn about it, you go:"wow, what a concept, this is deeper then the usual stat wars."

  4. (w00t) Square pwns all :-

I think it would be most unwise to even think of allowing the Square people within a thousand miles of the place where Kotor 3 is developped. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the odd Final Fantasy once in a while, but I don't think they should meddle in this stuff, if only for the sake of not spreading the anime bull**** to a series mercifully free of it.

    My top 3 would be:

    1. BioWare (a failsafe choice)

    2. Obisdian (potential for good and disaster)

    3. Raven (yes, they make FPS but they got good SW reputation)

Technically/game engine wise, I don't think it matters *too* much cos it'll be a new modern engine. I guess it comes down to story and persuasive power against LucasArts.

I wouldn't call Bioware a failsafe choice exactly, remember NWN.

  5. Funny you should ask, I've been trying a new type of character lately, you could call him a weapons expert, I wanted him to be good with blasters and lightsabers both, but it didn't work out, you only get enough feats so that one weapon specialisation is possible.

I guess it's just like Obi-Wan said about blasters, they're no jedi's weapon.

I got a question though, is it better to got for STR or to go for DEX with finesse lightsaber.

  6. Blizzard makes killer rts games - But rpg? .. nah

You are mistaken, Blizzard MADE killer rts games, warcraft 3 wasn't so great, and don't even get me started about Starcraft Ghost, we want starcrat2 damnit STARCRAFT 2 !!! but noooooo, you had to go dev that WOW bull**** instead, damn money-grubing bean-counting mercantile sons of *******.

You want a good rts, play Rise of Nations, there's a grade AAA game, expansion included.

  7. I say, don't listen to all that crap and buy it, the bugs ain't that bad, and no obsidian patch is gonna fix the ending, mods are all talk and no action so you won't get any of those either. Besides, if you're not a completely superficial individual, the ending won't bother you that much.

Though if you're really busy with graduation you'd better wait till that's out of the way, this game's worth savouring, not rushing through.

  8. Let it go already, what the hell are all these bugs you're ranting about anyway, I've had a couple of bugs sure, but no game stoppers or system crashers, nothing I couldn't work around, so what's got you all riled up. When it comes to PC games there's always bugs, and if you think Kotor2 is so horribly faulty, try replaying Kotor, and I swear it'll shut you up, it had alot more bugs. All those RPGs you remember so fondly like Fallout, don't you remember how buggy that was ? it could corrupt your save files, this is cakewalk compared to it, it's clean as a whistle.

Sure the plot had a few holes, but what can you do, it's the business, and there's been enough ranting about it to write a novel out of, that's enough.

All you people please get over it, I want Kotor3 to happen, but if you keep bitchin like this, they're gonna figure it's a no go and we'll never see it, my only hope is they never read these boards. Has the lack of an ending troubled you so ? If you it did, you're not thinking straigth.

  9. Your mention of Yavin caused me to assume you were talking about KotOR I.

I can see how that would confuse the issue, sorry about that.

I know you're not guarrantied to find the same things in every game, but there's a fair chance we all end up with one or two of the same crystals. I just wanted to know if you could share the construction of a lightsaber you made that was very uber.

  10. GhostofAnikin is correct in his assumption, his example: that there are about 9 out of 10 male customers in a PC game store, is representative the market's composition, if only because we see that example repeatedly, if only because it is widely recognised. I have no official numbers to back up my claim either, but it is true that gaming companies aim their products at male gamers, what they want is to sell a product, there's a good chance that they are aware of these numbers better then any of us here.

This is not a contest, we are not trying to prove something here, it isn't bigotry or an attack on the female gaming population, it is the farthest thing from it, it is simply a fact. That dosen't mean that the female gaming population is non-existent, we know it's on the rise, and as we speak, game protagonists and heroes turn themselves more and more toward the female population as everything else in the world, as you can see, I have no numbers to support that either but I'm sure you'd agree. That said, I sustain that Revan's gender should be entirely up to the player.

This is a good thing, because now, females may not dismiss you as a geek or a weirdo when you state the fact that you enjoy playing video games :D , it will simply be another thing to talk about, and luckily share.

  11. You folks remember Suvan Tam, the friendly rodian who lives at Yavin IV ? He was the only salesman that was worthy of business in Kotor, apart from a couple of guys from Korriban. But Suvam offered the best prices for all the extra junk you had to sell, and he was the only worth pazak player around, so I was wondering if Kotor2 has any salesmen to match Suvam, and where they are ? Being a lightsider is all well and good, but I need more credits.
