  1. one thing that was horrible in kotor1 was that it didnt tell you what happened to yuor party. it didnt say who lived, who died, what they did with their life, and so on i would like to see a great ending in kotor2 which explains it, like, heres an example. say jolee died after the whole kotor thing, well, tell us! and say how, and show us how. like say he dies fighting desert raid on tatooine, well, show him fighting raid, and maybe show him die. now just like a 20sec-1min ending for each character, with the star wars these or somethign in the backround, so you at least sort of know what happened. i know people will call this a stupid idea, so flame away :D

  3. Well, his presentation may have been sub-optimal to term it mildly, but why all the venom? It did look extremely ridiculous when during the dialogue the weapons got twirled in people's faces. It looked equally ridiculous and damaged immersion when the party was running around with weapons drawn and nobody reacted. There is no need for an additional button - there already is a button dedicated to completely useless "flourish". It could be used to holster/unholster instead. Morever, reaction to drawn weapons has been implemented in some games - the Gothics, for example, and it did add to the atmosphere quite a bit, IMHO. And the different lightsaber hilts feature is much more useless than this one, yet it got lots of discussion and probably would be included in the game. yeah, but still, why take away your weapon, these are all horrible reasons. i dont think people will react to something that supposively everyone has in the star wars universe, a weapon (unless its pointed at them, of course). give me one good reason to not have a weapon!

  9. im sure the great chairman would appreciate the 2 people who voted.....
  10. Takeshi Kaga does, your ruler! :D if anyone doesnt know who your ruler is, shame on you and look him up now or you shall be hurt really really badly (scary, huh?)!
  11. how bout a beginning cutscene, which introduces the game, a middle cutscene, the big plot twist, and an end cutscene, which is the end.
  12. nobodys voting! cmon people! every vote counts
  13. go to the 'who is your ruler' thread and vote now. and let me say folks, its not rigged, your vote counts!
  14. yeah, but some cutscenes advance the story, which kotors cutscenes were crap, and so was the story. im not saying that you need cutscenes, but they are pretty cool. the best cutscenes are Medal of honor and Dark forces 2. i loved those
  15. I personally hope Obsidian keeps those "rendered movies" short and to the point like Bioware did. The last thing in the world I want to do is play through a FF/MGS2/Xenosaga game where the "rendered movies" are a substitute for gameplay. Now if they want to splurge at the very end of the game with a end all "rendered movie" showing what happened to the galaxy, npcs, ect. ect. thats fine with me because if I don't like it I can just turn off my Xbox. Actually I like the idea of a big movie at the end (and by big movie I mean nothing longer then 8 mins) kinda like the old school Phantasy Star series I-III. B) Cheers! or a 30 sec 'rendered movie' like moh
  16. choices choices..... hope the poll works, usually doesnt, hey it does work, no your not seeing double
  17. And I responded with things to talk about. This forum is full of things to talk about. And I didn't even touch the gameplay video yet. That too brings up many topics of conversation. I have no qualms with you, or your posts in general. However, I think it's a little childish to stomp your feet and complain about a lack of information when the devs have answered plenty of questions, provided us with interviews, screenshots, concept art, and a gameplay movie and the community ignored that content. Perhaps they should discuss the content given before demanding more. you forgot to add: the meaning of life dogs KOTOR! hitler alaska you see, not EVERYTHING has been discussed yet
  18. could a dev reply and give us an estimate of a time they may release screens (dont say 'this summer' or 'feb 2005' )
  19. I thought the original did have different dialogue responses based on if you had weapons out. But it shouldn't sheave your weapons automatically. You should choose to do it explicitly. Games shouldn't keep on doing more for you, removing the fun. The dialogue of the characters around you alone should be enough to make you sheave your weapons, making it fun to discover on your own. It can be made an option to automatically sheave weapons after combat I suppose. there is an option! put the damn thing away form the equip menu!
  20. you only registered about a week ago!
  21. hey, if you guys dont want to have your weapons, just go to your equipment screen and take it off, or you could sell them.
  22. I'm sorry, but I think this is an horrible idea. One of the reasons that KoTOR has been rated the best RPG of all time across all platforms is because of the romances. While I do like the other interactions, and look forward to them, cutting out the romance is simply awful. KoTOR was very inspiring to many, many people, due in large part to the character development that was there when the PC was drawing romantically closer to either Carth or Bastila. Romances are included in just about every piece of classical literature out there, from every genre. There is a universal appeal about them, which is one of the reasons why Baldur's Gate II was such an enormous success as well. The romances are one of the most talked about aspects of the game. The majourity of players love having them in there, and truly appreciate how much they added to the enjoyment of playing KoTOR. I know many, many people are looking forward to the romances in KoTOR 2, and when I asked at E3, I was informed by LA that there would be romances in the story. Looking at it from purely a writer's standpoint, love is the single most powerful and most used device out there. Using Star Wars, the Han/Leia romance aside, the catalyst for most of the movies was love. Luke's love for Obi Wan, Luke's love for his friends, and finally, Luke's love for his father. It's difficult to inspire that kind of devotion in a third person environment like a game without using the romance card. Please, please reconsider the romance option. I truly believe that KoTOR2 will suffer if it is left out, and many, many fans will be disappointed. heh, i just reread this, and it sort of makes no sence. i dont think it has been rated a great rpg cause of the horrible romance in it how did the romance in the game inspire people? i dont know if you can speak for the majority of the people about liking the romance i dont know about anyone else, but my favorite parts of the game was killing the guy in the locker, great graphics, fun battles, and some of the more creative sidequests like the sandral/matale quest, not some romance plot i wouldnt say that 'romance of kotor' is the most talked about aspect of the game
