Ahh, I can see a Raven..What?

So the whole picture of the game and everything surrounds the Mournweld. Man I think the place is super creepy with all the dead legionnares lying at the bottom of the tree. Still, they disappear (and the hunters' as well) on your 2nd visit to the place. Did Jeyne have sb clean the place as part of the welcome for her gods? :p

I'm curious about that. Maybe the god she was trying to summon was the God of Mopping. It might explain the puddle of water that surrounded the tree

Actually, I really loved the symbolism of the tree and the ravens, and the way that it seemed to have imprinted itself on every Legionnaire's consciousness. The death of hope, the corruption of creation, and the mourning at the destruction of an era. The theme was carried out really well in the writing. Frankly, this game has some of the best storytelling I've seen in a while.

Ravens may be yet another form of the Radiant Youth, watching over and guiding the Legionnaires to their destiny. Haha, IDK, I just made that up, but it sounded nice.

...What is supposed to go here, something flashy...?

I'll put on my nerd hat and suggest a bit of a mythology tie in.

In Norse mythology Odin had a pair of ravens that were kind of his messengers/familiars and I believe traded one of his eyes for knowledge. This is off the top of my head without digging out my big book of mythology to confirm.

The Radiant Youth is clearly more than just any child and in possession of a great deal of knowledge of past, present and future. Birds have also featured in various myths/lore as watchers and messengers acting on behalf of gods so could be the case with the ravens and the Radiant Youth.
