Cannons out of range incorrect

Dyrwoodan Hog Nose has a range of 150-400m. The distance between the ships are 465m, so they should clearly be out of range and receive a -30 modifier. But they do not. Something isn't right here.

 

When the distance was over 500m earlier in the fight, they did receive a -30 modifier though, so maybe the math is borked?
