Is the only way to remove them is by killing them once you have 8 ? (also why such a restriction on recruits? not like I can use more then 5 at a time)

seems like such bad game design , especially with so many multi classes , unless its an arbitrary reason for replay-ability ?

I don't know how to get rid of them, but i disagree it's a bad game design.

There are default companions in the game which you can use, and don't have to worry about making your own companions. If you make a custom one, the developers expect that you exactly know what kind of companion you want, since you don't want the ones they created for you.

If you are experimenting, well create a save-game and experiment. But in an RPG I think it's a completely normal design that they don't expect you to have 30 companions.

It's a DnD-like RPG and companions are supposed to be a tight-party for you to play with, not an army to switch them constantly.

Maybe it's a limit to avoid boarding fight with 30 companions on your side !
But anyway, they could just limit the number of out-of-party companions that show up in a boarding fight.

I'm also for lifting that restrictions or just expanding it a bit.

ok I get that with the max 8 characters at any given time however not being able to tell them to go away i'm never hiring you again and not be able to hire someone different is bad role playing, especially when you can do this but have to kill them to do it , why design a game to have to go through that hassle.

I actually enjoy more when games have pre created characters even more stripped down then sidekicks and only a couple different one are hireable depending on the town your are in vs the generic make your own character *shrug* I get thats not this game but its still a cumbersome system,
