With the slow animation of the beta, does anyone feel it’s very hard to hit moving target with abilities? Most of time when I try to use an ability against a moving target, the target will move out of range before I swing the weapon, which result in ability out of range(super annoying).

I don’t know what improvements can be made about this issue, but this is really annoying :/

OMG, I'm so happy you've created this topic! It's not only me then. I have a very hard time with the very same thing, and I'd say that any use of the cursor onto a moving enemy during combat is a futal exercise of following a fake rabbit during a hound race.

I raise this issue because when I try to backstab someone, after I use smoke veil and turn invisible, the target lose my vision and turn to another target. When he is running around, I never be able to hit him because every time it shows enemy out of range when I finished the animation.

Then my invisible duration ends before I can find a chance to hit him :)

Seems like I never notice a similar issue in PoE1, is that because the speed of PoE 1 is very fast?? Or maybe there are such issue but I just didn’t pay attention to it in 1.

Hmm, as I always used slow mode in PoE1, perhaps this was an issue there too.

Had this same issue a couple of times while casting lay on hands on a party member who then moved out of range by the time the cast finished, effectively wasting the cast. I don't recall this ever occurring in Pillars 1 and honestly I'm not a big fan of this change, makes things needlessly complex and frustrating.

Interesting, so this issue is not enemy only, but also happens to friendly abilities? Then I think this should definitely be addressed because it's not fun to lose power resource because of out of range.

They can increase the animation speed of instant attack and casts at the "resolve" part of the action while keeping the speed of "preparation" part of it. So melee instant actions will be done quickly while the friendly single target casts if interrupted won't waste the spell.

Moreover though this is an issue in the delicate balance between movement and action, the more you slow down the action the more disproportionately valuable the movement becomes. This has to be addressed one way or another.
