happyemi Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 I'm starting a game on normal and since I'm pretty new, I don't want to limit my mage to either cc or damage only (but I know I don't want him to go to melee). So I can't really min/max, but still I'd like to find a good compromise with my starting attributes. I came up with the following: 14/6/17/16/18/6 (some values my be off by 1). I (kind of) dumped con and res, to keep the other stats high. Might could be higher, but I had to make a choice and I already know many wizard spells are cc based anyway. I'm a bit worried about dumping res, since concentration is important, right? anyway, do you think the game is viable on normal with this build? I'm not an expert, but I played a tons of rpgs (and I still do!) so I'm not the average casual either
Boeroer Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 Totally viable. If you want you can put a few points from DEX to MIG, CON and RES. At spell level 3 you'll get Deletrious Alacrity of Motion which you want to cast at the beginning of every tough fight. It makes your casting crazy fast and thus you can do with a bit less DEX - if you want. Use CC to protect you from enemies that like to rusch shquishy casters. Confusion helps a lot here!
