Combat check.

Reveal Sling: 1d12 + 1d6.

Recharge Archer: remove 1d12, remove 1d6. Replace with 2d4.

Make sure the check type on the drop down is set to Combat Dexterity. It sounds like the check was changed to Combad Ranged, and merisiel doesn't have that skill

That is the reason. Merciel has no ranged skill and Archer and d4 to ranged skill. And I character does not have a skill he/she use d4 instead. So d4 for not having skill plus d4 for Archer is what you get in total.
