Game interface locks when travelling to Telos after retrieving Ebon Hawk from Handmaidens

So, I'm playing in Steam with workshop content installed (Restoration mod). After getting the Ebon Hawk from that Jedi lady on Telos's pole if I try to travel to Telos Citadel Station the game either minimizes and stops responding or I do get to see my character, but I cannot interact with anything and I can't alt-tab, only Ctrl+Alt+Del and kill the process.

anyone know what's going on? am I basically doomed to restart the game?

UPDATE: I was able to travel to Dantooine, but the same thing happened when I tried to go from Dantooine to Nar Shadaa.

I wonder if there's a pattern, and I can reach any place in several hops, or if it's random, and I should just keep relaunching the game and trying. I'll test different combinations tomorrow... and maybe look for similar issues on Steam's community hub

ok, after several game restarts I was finally able to travel to Nar Shaddaa, which leads me to believe it's one of the two:

a) completely random

b) related to auto-saves

I disabled auto-saves for now, will report back with the results

small update: the game now does it upon launch when trying to render the main menu. I am beginning to suspect it's two separate issues.

having the game in windowed mode while launching it and triggering interplanetary travel seems to have fixed this issue for me.

unfortunately, when in windowed mode the interface becomes less usable for me, but it's nothing more than hitting Alt+Enter every now and then
