Loot? Does it count as an item?

I'm debating whether or not have my solo Merisiel should carry the Wand of Enervation. I have the Thief branch and going to pick the Magic Expert. Would loot classified as an item?

Depends on the loot.  The WoE does.  If you look up in the upper right corner just below the card title, it'll tell you what kind of boon it represents, and thus what kind of "slot" it occupies.

Loot can have any normal boon subidentity.

So far there has been weapon, item spell and armor loot, even one that does not have subidentity. But no ally loot if I am not wrong...

You mean in PA, or in the whole of the card game?  Lady Agasta Smythee is a Loot Ally in Skull and Shackles.

Actually, there are two more Loot Allies in S&S: Alise Grogblud and Vailea.
