Long story short, I noticed that since the patch was put in, if I encounter Black Fang with more than 1 character at the same location, everyone must attempt a Constitution/Fortitude save or be dealt 1d4-1 Acid damage. This is normal, but, if the second or subsequent character after the first plays any blessings to help in their check to succeed, the save turns to a combat check of 12. If I succeed the combat check, it continues on as normal (as if I had succeed the save for acid damage). If I fail the check, it acts like combat and that character takes combat damage instead of rolling for acid damage, then moving onto the next character (for their save or back to the first character for the combat).
