I put Merisiel into weaponless combat against summoned bandit. Her character card in the app says her strength is d8, but d4 was used for the base die. Then I could not recharge a card to get extra d6.

 

Are these problems, or am I missing something?

I'm only guessing here, so I may be totally wrong.

The game let you try a check with a skill your character doesn't have but it gives you a d4. Is it possible you have selected MELEE as the skill to use for the combat check instead of STRENGHT? in that case, since Merisiel doesn't have the skill MELEE, she can still try the check but she uses a d4, as its happening to you.

For your other issue: the power (sneak attack) has to be used before you make the roll (but I assume you already know that) and Merisiel must be the only character in that location.

I don't think I selected Melee as opposed to strength.

 

That whole game got messed up.  I left the ipad idle lfor a while, had to log in to Pathfinder again, and then all my characters were duplicated.  I guess I couldn't use Merisiel because there were two instances of her at the location.  I tried to play on, but my other two (x2=4) characters could not move from their closed location.  So I forfeited the game.

 

Now I need two blessings to build my characters back up, and I can't seem to get any from the "box".  Any suggestions about that?

You ran into a bug here that sounds like it exploded into something worse.

When doing a combat check with Merisiel it should default to her best die, in this case it should have defaulted to a d8 over her d4 melee skill. This bug has already been reported and worked on.

 

What model of iPad are you using?
How long was your ipad idling for before you came back and everything was messed up?

Did it go to sleep or did the screen lock? Did you exit the game or leave it running?

Did you leave it running in game or leave it running at the main menu?

Other people have reported the character dupe bug (which also prevents you from building a legal deck) and the more information you can provide the easier it will be for us to reproduce this internally and squash the crap out of it.

Had a similar problem when I tried to resume a game, and I my characters duplicated too. I didn't report it cause I'm playing on a phone and it's not supported, but since I see that even tablet users are getting it, it may be a global issue.

I think it's ipad4, 32 gig

idled over an hour

I left it screen unlocked, it automatically locked after some number of minutes.  did not exit game

I would have left it running in the game mode before the duplicate character problem happened.  Possibly I had switched to Safari app, though
