For some reason, the difficulty of the check to recharge a spell for Lem (and only Lem) is always +2 higher than the card would indicate. I am playing on Story Mode, in normal difficulty (no wild effects), during the Brigandoom! and Poison Pill scenarios (so far). I am playing on an Android device.

For example, after casting Strength from the Town Square during the Poison Pill scenario on Normal difficulty, Lem is stuck trying to roll an 8 instead of a 6. This seems to happen with every spell that Lem casts. I cannot find any mechanics on Lem's card, the scenario card, or on the location which would cause such an increase, but that's what the check says. "Arcane 8."

EDIT: Pass-and-Play is off, Permadeath is off.

Ok. I can see what is happening.

The 6 is for accuiring the spell. It is in the upper right part of the card.

You Are trying to recharge the spell and that requires you to get 8, so it is working as it should be. It is in the low end of the card.

In the middle (below "Arcane") you have indication how much you have to roll to succeed.

In all seriousness, don't sweat it, there is a lot to learn and read here. :)
