I completely agree that carnage is one hell of a trick , and class worthy mechanic , just never forget that wizard has RANGED CARNAGE , which is way way way way way way better than barbarians .

 

On other hand wizards cant tank themselves ( if they are using blast ) so it kinda balances it out .

Barbarians make really solid front liners as long as you know and willing to build them correctly , they can be super good with 2handers , Dual-Wield , and 1h+Shield , in fact Barbarian is the king of Unlabored Blade builds which is king of DPS weapons , barbarian built with non bashing shield and unlabored will always outdamage anybody in the party attacking with unlabored blade once in 25 frames and hitting at least 3 opponents is a real deal
