Character Progression Speculation

Based on information from the beta, it wasn't clear to me whether previous posts (including ones I've made) are correct about the scope of the season pass.  Particularly, I'm not sure whether the season pass includes ONLY the six adventure decks, or whether it ALSO includes some selection of characters.  Although I wouldn't object to an official answer, I'd honestly rather the Obsidian people be spending their time prepping for release.  Personally, I don't think it affects my decision, so I'm happy to wait-and-see.

 

That said, presuming that characters are NOT included, I thought it would be interesting to see whether people had thought about what order they would be acquiring characters.

 

As a reminder, character access in the beta worked like this:

* New accounts had access to Merisiel and Kyra.

* You could acquire Ezren, Harsk, Lem, Seoni, or Valeros (for 2000 gold each).

* You could acquire Amiri, Lini, Sajan, or Seelah (for 4000 gold each).  This is the "C" expansion.

* There was a "special offer" that allowed acquisition of all of the "C" expansion characters, but I don't recall the cost.

 

I think my first addition will be Ezren, since he'll provide Intelligence, the Arcane skill, and with just a little bit of play, he turns into a spell-recharging machine.  On top of that, his ability to explore again after acquiring a spell lets him BURN through locations like the Academy, which makes up for his lack of any Blessings to use for extra exploration.

 

What are the rest of you thinking?

Free Characters, Base Set Characters, and the Expansion pack.

 

My belief is that, with the season pass, we will have access to all three groups. I also agree that access to the character expansion will not change my decision about my investment to the game. I will be purchasting the season pass.

 

If for no other reason to support the game.

 

My favorite characters is Amiri. I love the Barbarian.. She is absoluely a beast.

 

If I am forced to work with out her, I will be adding her as soon as I can. I have to believe that the season pass cones with the entire base set characters..

Amiri is great. You'll find her to be an essential part of playing Legendary difficulty.

 

As to what's included in the bundle:

• All currently released Rise of the Runelords Adventures
• All future RotR Adventures
• All RotR characters (including the Add-On deck characters)
• Character Add-On Deck (deck C)
• Promo Cards!

Bottom line: If you are giving us money, you get it all!
