That's it. Her green circle pulses in size, but nothing else happens.

OK this is just weird. I can't talk to anyone, not even the innkeeper at the Black Hound. I can't interact with the aged wall in the Valewood (the one you can climb with a grappling hook). I can go through level transitions, at least.

Closing and relaunching the game fixed it.
