[2.03] Bug with Paladin's Sacred Immolation ability

Question

Posted

Sacred Immolation does damage and heals allies in an area, while the paladin who activates this ability takes a small amount of damage.  As expected, higher Might increase the AoE damage and healing.  However, it also increases the damage that the paladin takes.  This strikes me as odd as higher attribute scores tend to always be a positive thing.  Here, it's odd that higher Might makes Sacred Immolation both more and less useful at the same time.

To give Aarik a warm welcome back ;) :

SAVED GAME: link

OUTPUT LOG: link

REPRO STEPS:

Load the attached saved game.

Select the Paladin dude (he's the last one of the six portraits.)

Go to his character record and observe his MIG score is 10, netting him no modifier to his damage and healing.

Back to the game, observe he has the Sacred Immolation ability in his action bar.

Right-click Sacred Immolation to get the details, and observe it deals 5 Raw damage to self.

Select the Paladin dudette (second last portrait.)

Go to her character record and observe her MIG score is 20, netting her a +30% modifier to her damage and healing.

Back to the game, observe she has the Sacred Immolation ability in her action bar.

Right-click Sacred Immolation to get the details, and observe it deals 7 Raw damage to self (rounded up from 6.5 by the interface, as resulting from 7 * (1+30%))

This might be intended, so I guess it's one for a designer.
