Missing items on every load

Hello!

 

I'm encountering an issue on my macbook air [osx 10.10.05] [v2.03.0788 -steam] which results in specific gear items go missing on every load.

Every time I load the game the chest piece of one character goes missing.

 

I can reproduce this error by quick-saving and reloading the game.

 

This whole thing started with items occasionally disappearing throughout my play-through.

It was not reproducible on every load at first and the items that went missing frequently switched between

character and item slot. Missing armor here, missing weapon there..

 

At some point of time which I can't narrow down the items would always be the same.

So every time I've started playing I was equipping the usual slots on my characters.

 

After I've switched out some characters the error moved to the newly created ones.

Welcome to the forums and I apologize for the inconvenience. Do you have a save you can upload before you lose the item? What are the locations where you lose these said items? Are they unique items, magical items? 

 

How long ago did you have this issue? Do you recall what build it was when you started the game? 

 

Have you verified your game cache in steam to see if that fixes the issue?

Well as I can easily reproduce this on every load, yes, every save is 'before'

losing the item. I've already attached the affected save game.

 

What are the locations where you lose these said items?

 

Pretty much same as above, I'm close to the end of the game and so far there has not

been any time or any location in which the item did not get lost.

 

Are they unique items, magical items?

 

 

Any item type I have tried got lost and I've tried a lot by now.

 

How long ago did you have this issue?

 

 

The reproducable issue started just a week ago. Game progress wise around entering 

Hearthsong.

 

Do you recall what build it was when you started the game?

 

 

I can't recall the exact version but I just got the game beginning of this month on 5th of Oct.

If I recall correctly it was one of the v2.02 builds but I guess you probably got a way to figure 

out the version from that point of time.

Yes, I did verify the cache and it did not solve the issue.

Thank you for all the information. When I loaded up your save I can see an item missing, but I require a save that still have the items so I can reproduce the issue. I can add a bug in the database but without having an actual save to reproduce the issue, fixing the bug will prove to be difficult to solve. We did have this issue back in 2.0 but this has been since fixed. If you were to play the game again with a fresh save in 2.03, you shouldn't run into this problem again.

 

While this is not a solution, if you are not opposed to using the console for cheats, you can add the lost items into your inventory.

I will start a new run on 2.03 and see if I'm running into this issue again.

 

It wouldn't be so bad if it was a one time thing but I can't really be bothered adding an item 

via the console every time I load the game.

That's why I wanted to make sure that you got this on your list.

I'm not sure on how to achieve this because this is pretty much the error I'm encountering.

 

I can't get a save in which the item slot is filled with an item. Every time I save the game

it results in a faulty save which when I load does not include the item.

 

Have you checked out the video I've attached and tried to reproduce the issue on your side by

adding an item to the affected item slot and saving + loading the game?

I've started a new game on 2.03 and ran into this issue again right at the beginning.

 

I have uploaded two save games:

• The first auto save when starting at the camp
  
• The second auto save after entering the ruins
  

 

The first save includes the weapon of my main character, the second one is missing it.

 

I'm not sure if this is the same error as above though. 

When I load the second auto save, equip a weapon and save + load it, 

the item does not go missing again.

Depending on your choices at the start, you are supposed to lose your main weapon when entering the ruins.
