vv221 Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 (edited) Hello fellow Debian users, Ubuntu lovers and Mint freaks! Here you’ll find scripts allowing you to build .deb packages from your GOG-provided MojoSetup installer (.sh) of Pillars of Eternity. You can install them through DPKG and remove them through any APT front-end (apt-get, aptitude, synaptic, etc.). Scripts and usage instructions can be found on the following page: Pillars of Eternity I hope you’ll enjoy the comfort provided by these scripts as much as I enjoy writing and tweaking them Edited September 30, 2015 by vv221 1 Install easily Pillars of Eternity and its extensions on GNU/Linux
Xaratas Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Hi vv221, thanks for your ongoing work. It looks like gog has forgotten how to do incremental updates on linux dlc, aka The white March. Could you spend the time and create a new inofficial patch thats not 2,7GB big and more like the 200MB like the Windows patch? 1 More modding for PoE II | How to Work with Stringtables
vv221 Posted September 30, 2015 Author Posted September 30, 2015 (edited) I absolutely can do this, and I’ll try to have the first patches online for the week-end. You can expect to get scripts like these for the next Obsidian games too, as long as there is a DRM-free Linux version I can work on Edited March 25, 2016 by vv221 Install easily Pillars of Eternity and its extensions on GNU/Linux
MobMobMobi Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Hey vv21, thanks very much for this. I have one question though : does the installer for the white march II include PoE and the white march I, or should I install them all three ? It seems strange that the installer for the extension is so big (6.7 GB) so it should contain the rest, but then why is it smaller than the installer for PoE alone (6.8 GB) ?
Xaratas Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 @MobMobMobi Its all 3. There is no standalone installer. More modding for PoE II | How to Work with Stringtables
