August 21, 201510 yr So, did some testing. My chanter buffs suppress armor enchants yet are unaffected by active spells/modals. For example: -- Minor Ring of Protection -- Wary Defender -- Holy Meditation All of these stack Will. Since they are equipment, passive, and active, respectively. Now adding a phrase into that mix: -- At the Sight of Their Comrades, Their hearts Grew Bold The Minor Ring of Protection gets suppressed, everything else stays. So, are phrases classified as equipment? This behavior is consistent with other phrases and spells.

August 21, 201510 yr Bonuses from chants are handled like bonuses from gear at the moment. That has up- and downsides. So you can stack bonuses from chants and auras or prayers and so on (which is nice), but you can't stack bonuses from chants with the same bonuses that cone from gear - like you experienced.
