Reaching soul is not important for plot, nor gives you xp or loot. Totally optional. Dont like it, dont do it. Basically those guys are kickstarter backers in-game, with their own stories, you can reach for everyone's soul, but also you don't need to do it. Just a filler to the story. Eder: 'Can I pet him?'
