Apparently a bug here has flown under the radar and its one everyone is getting but don't notice at first.

 

Progressively longer and longer and longer save/load and transition times, starting at an instant to a few seconds eventually going up to 2-3 minutes and beyond.

That thing might happen because you have too many savegame files in the directory and it takes longer to read them.

Just move the ones you don't need right now out of C:\Users\YourName\Saved Games\Pillars of Eternity and you should be good to go.

Hello.  We are aware of this issue.  It has not flown under the radar as you mention.  There is a bug in our database currently open and assigned to the programming team.  Thanks for the support!
