TANKY PETS IN THE FRONT>>> Why choose the animal kingdom build: - one-shot (using 6 arrows flying in YO face) pesky spellcasters or other annoying mobs. - 6 animals laying the smackdown. - You enjoy going to the zoo. I recommend a DIFFERENT RACE for every ranger for more diversity. The question is: how does it handle POTD? I dunno ... just started, but hopefully it kicks ass. Sure made the bear paws (pause...no?)!
July 22, 201510 yr I would be lion if I said this doesn't look like fun. I think it will rock the early game but then afterwards the pets will go down all the time. Maybe it's just enough if they distract the enemy for a while so that the rangers can transform them into hedgehogs. But let's see - at least it's not boaring... I personally would go with one chanter as tank and 5 rangers so it would have one reliable tank who can even summon more pets (a drake for example). Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods

Lol - yeah, a chanter could improve the rangers ranged abilities, give summons and offer tankyness - but then I'd be missing an animal, and Noah couldn't have it! So far, I have given resilience to all the pets, and just made my rangers DPS specced - MAX Might and MAX Dex. Also - in order to tell whose animal is which - I made the name of the ranger and the pet start with the same letter. So my first ranger is Arnold, and he has a pet antelope called Agnes. Second is Baldur and his pet bear is Bobo, and so on....up until Fabiola with her wolf Fang, lol. Well, if all goes wrong - I'll restart with all chanter build named Bard College lol.
July 22, 201510 yr You would lose one pet (let's say Ernie Boar) but you would sort of gain another. Meet Gary the Chanter and his occasinal pet Gustav the Drake. You wouldn't even have to bother with pet talents. Gustav also needs no poop scoobs, because he just drops by when Gary whistles and then quietly dissapears after his work is done. July 22, 201510 yr PC should be a Druid built for shifting. He would lead the charge. No matter which fork in the road you take I am certain adventure awaits.
