Message when a bestiary entry is complete is not showing up, no exp reward on last kill either

When you kill enemies a green message appears telling you how much exp you've gained and the percentage left to complete the bestiary entry of that particular creature:

But when you complete the entry there's no message. It doesn't tell you that you've reached 100%. In fact, the last 'kill' (the one that completes the entry) doesn't even give you exp.
