Is there any point of (reaching into soul's) of people you meet and talk to sometime's?

I just don't get it.

PS

On my first play through only level 4 but do i really need to read all the "soul" text or is it just to slow the game down.

Thank's

You don't need to read them or the memorials in tombs, for that matter.

These are designed by backers of the Kickstarter campaign and easily spotted by their golden nameplates (and thus avoided).

You may ignore them at your leisure or do it like me: Kill them for loot. Your reputation may suffer, though.

Thank's macadam.

Glad i can skip and it won't effect the story/gameplay.

Yeah I got overwhelmed about that too, until I found out they are not tied to the game's story. I'm saving one of each book, though. Maybe when I beat the game I'll read them. I'll have all the multi-volume ones and not just Part 1 and 5, and they'll make more sense than reading about someplace I haven't seen or developed an emotional attachment to yet.

Yeah, the backer content is pretty bad and irrelevant to the overall story. Just ignore them unless you want loot from a backer NPC.
