Antipathetic field animation/hit box discrepancy?

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but the beam box from antipathetic field seems to be very wide in my game. It's certainly a good deal wider than the animation would have me believe. I was wondering if anybody else experienced/is experiencing this issue?

 

As you can see below, Eder/Eder's circle (he's in front of Durance) is well outside the beam, but he is still taking damage.
