I can sell stuff and trade..but they won't take $$$ for items???

You haven't ... maybe ... tried to buy more than the allowed number of camping supplies (4 on medium, 2 on hard/potd)?

Some items do/may have holding/carry limits - eg, camping material is limited to a certain number, varies with difficulty setting (6 on Easy, 4 on Normal, 2 on Hard, I think). Could that be it?

Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram. One day I suppose a game may inspire me to finally upgrade. Maybe.
