My grimoire disappeared after I cast parasitic staff- do I have to restart the game?

My wizards grimoire is totally, 100% gone, and the parasitic staff spell seems to have permanently replaced it. I'm about 5 or 6 hours in, and I'd hate to restart, but I don't have any saves before the problem, and I can't find a fix (resting or reloading doesn't work). Help?
