March 26, 201510 yr Just like when I first played BG1 with zero clue and no hints and died 100 times to the first Ogre, and then equipped an uber looking magic belt which turned me into a woman .... YES I THINK I WILL! Hard difficulty + Expert Mode and I know nothing about this game, I WANT IT BRUTAL!
March 26, 201510 yr No! The question is - should I play on path of the damned or hard the first time?
March 26, 201510 yr I guess that expert mode really only makes a difference IF you enable it on the first playthrough. If you play through it normally and enable it on the second playthrough, you already know a lot of stuff expert mode disables in the first place. Ultimately, everyones own choice of course

Im not mad enough for path of the damned, Hard should be challenging enough.

YES I THINK I WILL! Hard difficulty + Expert Mode and I know nothing about this game, I WANT IT BRUTAL! I will never play it without expert mode. I will remove every possible help that can show me what I could do just if I made different character. This is how it is in BG and that game is still mystery for me after so many years! I can play it now and probably see some dialogue option I never saw before or find a loot I didn't know existed before I was never offered this path before because of how I choose to play and roleplay my char.
March 26, 201510 yr Just as a warning ( I don't want to spoil the other things in expert mode), one of the options turned on in expert mode is " Combat Options[5] Perma Death, characters whose health reduced to 0 will permanently die, instead of becoming Maimed."
March 26, 201510 yr ^^ That just means more reloads. Thats great. I agree. Unless you play ironman, you just reload the encounter (if you saved beforehand :D) and try to do it better
March 26, 201510 yr Oh I didn't even think of that ha. Yeah I suppose you're right, for some reason I had it in my mind you could only use the one save, but that's Trial of Iron.
March 26, 201510 yr You say expert mode is like BG 2 which is a bit true but at least in BG 2 I could use a rod of resurrection on dead companions. Here they'll be dead (sandlot voice) F O R E V E R.
